Hadjimemashite, watashi wa Radford-San desu. O genki desu ka? Ueeruzu-jin desu. Rock on.
Your archetypal, grew up in the 80's kid here. I love The Goonies, Karate Kid, The Muppets, Thundercats, Miami Vice, Magnum PI, Karate Kid, Family Ness, Flight of the Navigato r and Batteries Not Included. etc. etc..But not Terrahawks!! (Zelda makes the wee come out of my winky)
I'm easily influenced by TV advertising. This doesn't make me weak really, but i just love adverts. They're so damn clever. Especially the way in which modern advertisers choose unheard music and the song instantly stays in your head. Intelligent Bastards, leave some brain for me....
I'm a pro-wrestling fan, I really thought that by now being mid-twenties and all, the thought of a poorly acted redneck soap opera with half-naked men hitting each other would have scared me slightly as i not only realised i would be bordering on homo eroticism but also this would alienate me from any female attention...I guess i got lucky. I still make trips to the Good Ol' US of A every year, including April 1st to Detroit for Wrestlemania 23!
I know i'm sad but i can't help it. I have a problem doc. But for the record wrestlin fans, my faves are/were
The Rock(superb), Chris Jericho(showman), Chris Benoit(evil), The Hulkster(c'mon),Raven(damn cool) Kurt Angle(come back!), Tazz(human suplex machine), Mr Perfect(R.I.P.), Kane(underrated), and Samoa Joe (unstoppable).
Computer Games...hmm...still rule my life, when i'm not being a good wife and cleaning the house/washing up/etc... generally the PS2/PC .. but i'm still a Nintendo fan at heart..
Top 5 Games of All Time
1. Super Mario World (genius)
2. Zelda - Ocarina Of Time/Wind Waker/Twilight Princess(perfection?)
3. Streetfighter Alpha 3 (I still have ambitions to be Ryu, the careers advisor laughed :()
4. Final Fantasy VII (bit obvious really, but can't wait for the remake...that might be the only reason to buy a PS3 at the mo?)
5. GTA: San Andreas (Redneck Simulator!!)
Special Mention to Lego Star Wars I & II...very nerdy, you won't be scoring points with the opposite sex anytime soon, but fun, fun games, Katamari Damacy and Elite(A Remake PLEASE!!!)
I love a bit of Golf(handicap 14 and lowering!), American Football and i even played Rugby for a few years after leaving Uni, though i couldn't stand the sport when i was younger.(When Mr Duggan saw me step off the Aber Team Coach after a match...I'll never forget his face)
Football is my main love though - Aston Villa to be precise, Martin O'Neill's Barmy Army, marching on forever...
We'll Meet again
Add to My Profile
I've always been into Geography/Geology, especially tornadoes and earthquakes, and having been in a few quakes in Tokyo(didn't quite release my sphincter..but it was close!) i'm saving up right now to go to Texas/Oklahoma next summer to go find me some flying cows and hailstones the size of pygmy's heads in the shape of a Tornado or two, although Britain has more tornadoes per sq metre than anywhere else in the world.
I have a rubber band ball. Its 7 inches in diameter and took a year of saving up in work. Yes...i do want a medal thanks :P
I'd like to meet:
George W Bush, well, i wouldn't have to meet him, just within arms reach will do...
(PS: - This isn't actually me!!)
Hulk Hogan, i hope he's a good guy in reality.
(I've already met The Rock + HHH and very nice they were too)
Dave Gorman and Danny Wallace, i saw Dave Gorman once doing his excellent Googlewhack show in Aberystwyth, but then he scarpered(no doubt to balance some pebbles) and i missed my chance to actually meet him. I got drunk instead.
Bill Bryson, Ferris Bueller, and Magnum PI.
Any of the Monty Python cast. All genius'ses'es.
Don Johnson's Tailor
The Man on the Pringles Tin
The Equaliser
Curveball
Try it...go on...
*You actually want to read the terms and conditions? Well done, either you're a dedicated stranger who reads the whole profile, and we can become friends with our geeky attention to detail, or you're a friend already, well done for that, you must know how sneaky i am.
Music:
All right, all right. Everyone else seems to have compiled
amazing lists of bands from the top of their heads. and not one to be left out of the cool crowd i'm going to recite a list of my besterest bands/singers so that you can um and ahh and then comment that i'm an idiot for leaving x/y/z band out. In fact, i reckon this'll end up being bollocks, and just end up being a list of really popular bands...take a look down, if you see someone you haven't heard, give 'em a listen, it might just make my/their day.
I'm your typical Reading/Leeds/Download festival goer...without the rich parents or the Surrey accent.
I don't own an iPod(not big enough) and I play air guitar on trains to ensure i get two seats.
Oh i quite enjoyed the late 90's nu-metal thing. I know it was all style and no substance, and completely over-produced but you know, people are still buying Ministry of Sound albums aren't they? so..er..we'll call it a draw.30 seconds to mars =, i think i likes 'em. But i'm not emo or owt.

Movies:
Memoirs of a Geisha was good, Sin City, Lost In Translation, Rocky 4, Anchorman, Three Amigos, Mary Poppins, Indiana Jones - ROT Lost Ark.
All-time faves are probably The Shawshank Redemption - Akira - Goonies - A Beautiful Mind - Clerks - Waynes World and er..go on then..The Star Wars Trilogy(4 to 6) - Anything by the amazing Hayao Miyazaki as well -
Will Ferrell tickles me, not literally, but however much i try to fight against the grain of the mainstream toilet humour...Will brings me back to earth with a bump.
Television:
Don't get to watch too much TV, but i do keep an eye out for Top Gear, QI, TV Burp, Mythbusters, The Mighty Boooooosh....the really popular stuff i need not mention. The awesome Time Trumpet too and for some reason I was hooked on Supernatural, the series aimed at adolescent girls. I was worried too...
Sopranos is great stuff. I've even bought a white vest myself...but haven't gotten hold of an extended italian family yet, or a cadillac escalade.
/
Series wise, Family Guy, Simpsons, South Park, Spaced, Black Books, Alan Partridge, Brass Eye, The Day Today, Friday Night Armistice, most satirical comedy.
Scrapheap Challenge is good but i get jealous of the engineers intellects.
Recently got all the series of Curb Your Enthusiasm. I quite liked Seinfeld when i was younger even though i was a bit young to get all the jokes, but Larry David is who i want to be when i grow up...but with more hair...
Me in Uni about 5 years ago...this hurt i recall...
Bah Gawwd!! Bah Gawwd!!
Books:
Some obvious ones like anything by Bill Bryson, The Da Vinci Code, inaccurate but a good thriller,
Books by Prof R Dawkins, Dave Gorman, Danny Wallace, Tony Hawks, Potter Series(i dunno why either..) and some less obvious ones like Emergence by Steven Johnson and Power-up by Chris Kohler. Will Ferguson is up there too.
Hell, i've even read Art of War and 48 Laws of Power...just for research of course...;)
I tend to read non-fiction, and travel books as that's what i did for a while.
Your Brain's Pattern
You have a tempered, reasonable way of thinking.
You tend to take every new idea in, and meld it with your world view.
For you, everything is always changing. Each moment is different.
Your thinking process tends to be very natural - with no beginnings or endings.
Heroes:
Heroes - Yes, its a great series...ho ho..
Spartacus - Max Worrall - Grimlock - John Peel - Freddie Flintoff - Zack de la Rocha - Tom Morello - Nelson Mandela - Vince McMahon Jr. - I admire Castro but i don't believe in his style of govt. Cool beard though. If Tony B grew one, I'd vote for him...maybe...
