Hitchcocks Regrets third album endless_intermission began with drummer Shane Pex uttering If Her Life In Reverse (previous HR album) was To Catch A Thief (light and summery Hitchcock film) then this album will be Vertigo (an extremely personal, dark and wintery Hitchcock film)
Due to singer/songwriter Mark Moldre having a spate of bad health the official album launch was postponed and a tour with The Church cancelled. He had only just started playing some acoustic warm up solo shows with iOTA and Marty Willson-Piper when he landed himself in a hospital bed. Despite the bad luck so far three singles have received a warm reception with airplay on JJJ, FBi, regional stations and Rage. Then the lads were offered a tour with The Church again and played successful shows in Sydney and Melbourne. Now with things back on the track the album is finally receiving it's official release.
endless_ intermission has been through two producers, Tim Powles(The Church, iOTA, The Camels) and Michael Carpenter (The City Lights, Youth Group, 78 Saab) seen line up changes, a rejection of earlier influences, hospitalisations, operations, births, the construction of a studio, the previous record company balking at what was considered an uncommercial/arty album and finally the meeting of minds with Spacejunk.
You can purchase a copy of the new album from the Church Merchandise website, the bands official site (actually you can purchase all 3 of their albums there!) or order it in at your favourite rekkid store. It has been released on Spacejunk through MGM. Spacejunk (the label) is a home for recording artists and projects with genuine musical integrity and intent.

The first couple of reviews for endless_intermission are in:
AUSTRALIAN GUITAR MAGAZINE (January issue)
"Engaging and hypnotic from beginning to end, Endless Intermission is a journey through a landscape of unhinged moods, jangly chord progressions, spacey lead guitar, expertly delivered pop with instant familiarity (you'll swear blind you've heard some of these songs before) and intelligent lyrics. The NSW Central Coast band is led by Mark Moldre, who, aside from playing "guitarsaplenty" also has a go at everything from theremin to Mellotron, autoharp and thumb-tack piano, making him either a show off or a genius, maybe both. While their old label failed to see the commercial aspects of this, their third album, Hitchcock's Regret have found a new home on Spacejunk, and new sound with Endless Intermission and no doubt hundreds of new fans. If you like the Eels, give these guys a serious listen."
Karl Mayerhofer
THE SYDNEY MORNING HERALD:
"Hitchcock’s Regret could rival Augie March as Australian indie’s favourite sons. The Central Coast band craft melodies with the same intricacy and deliver vocals with the same level of emotion. The third HR album is a masterpiece of guitar pop wrapped in esoteric instruments such as the mellotron, theremin and dobro. It’s at it’s best on tracks such as Inkstain, where simpler song construction allows a yearning story to shine through."
Erik Jensen 3 ½ stars

SNIPPETS FROM THE PRESS
"I wish I had Mark Moldres gift for melodies. Hes got this pop thing completely sussed, and in a more equal world that would put him at the top of a heap that starts with Lennon/McCartney and takes you through Brian Wilson to Elvis Costello and Difford/Tilbrook. Sort of like The Beatles White Album without the trite moments"...... DRUM MEDIA.....

"The Sydney Quartet follow up their debut Regretfulness with an album that proves that they do make 'em like that anymore"..... LAM, UK.....

"an intoxicating affair. ....when Hitchcock's Regret move beyond their comfort zone, the results border on extraordinary."..... JUICE......

"Lyrical, warm and imaginative.a maturity in the songwriting that reminds of Neil Finn"...... THE BIG TAKEOVER.....

"Her Life in Reverse' should allow them to enter the big stage with pop's other major league players (ie. Wilco, Coldplay, Doves etc.). On the evidence of what they have laid down here, Hitchcock's Regret deserve to enter that major arena"...... LUNA CAFE.....

"....harks back to psychedlia era Beatles....Hitchcocks Regret put themselves alongside Augie March and Ice Cream Hands as creators of tuneful intelligent adult pop Album of the week"......HOWLSPACE.COM ED NIMMERVOLL.....

"Musically, its so much more inventive than those two Brit bands (Coldplay and Travis) could ever hope to muster".....UK AMERICANA.......

"an incredible amalgamation of everything you've ever loved about music" .....TORPEDO POP.....

"Make no mistake, Hitchcock's Regret are a major group in the making".....NETRYHTHMS.....

"You can tell they poured their hearts and souls into this one, and they can rest assured it is something they can be proud of forever".....MIXDOWN.....
