Now i could take the piss and say i'm the best thing since penecilen but, I havn't cured cancer or starvation in Africa..............by Mick................... Mick Ryan & The Majestic Ensemble are powerfull but laid back rock outfit combining clean toned vintage lead guitar, a warm acoustic rythym, powerfull, rough & raw vocals and the hauntingly beutifull sounds of the violin when where blessed to have her on stage. Mick Ryan has been performing for about 8 year's. Starting off in different hard rock bands. But quickly got sick of writing songs in bands that alway's split up. Then about 4 years ago he picked up the acoustic guitar and started writing. He had written 6 songs before he could play a cover ( and still to this day does not really play covers). Then a year on he started his solo career becoming a favoured regular at the break bar, the dekk, buddah bar in Terrigal, Joe's garage and has plyed at numerous places in Sydney. It was about july 2006, Mick partnered up with Dave Milligan, from wyong. To record and play all the songs Mick had written. From the first rehearsal dave heard exactley where Mick wanted to go, But at the end of thier first rehearsal "lost at sea" was written and things exploded into a whole new shape, from the alternative country/grunge feel, to the sound they have today. They bring out the best of each others talents, excelling in area's neither thought had in them ( a true gem to watch). The next task was to find a drummer who could master the art of what not to do and just lay it all in there, and this is where young Luke Taylor has filled the role with sucess. They are building up a steady following and respect from playing at Kantara house, the dekk bar, Attic nite spot and in the cbd the diamond bar, and recentley performing at 96.3fm/ the lock up garage, a local cental coast radio station With no limitations just your own imagination. They are writting some killer tunes and performing a jaw dropper of a live show. Mick Ryan & The Majestic Ensemble are trying to branch out to play/support/headline with other bands in Sydney, Newcastle and reginal NSW, Australia and the world. They've found thier feet, and loving it!
