My Interests

Writing, belly dancing, costumes, SCA, more writing, my magazine, travel.

I'd like to meet:

Folks in the magazine publishing business, horror and dark speculative fiction writers, writers of non-fiction dealing with the paranormal, book reviewers, editors, folks with a good to great grasp on the mechanics of the english language as it pertains to writing and so on...

Basically those with whom can I can share information and learn from.

Oh, and pretty much anybody in the creative vein. Creativity is what makes this world bearable and sometimes a whole helluv a lot of fun.

Music:

...is the portal to the soul.

I can, and do, listen to everything from Nine Inch Nails to Vivaldi, Classic Ozzy to Norah Jones, Eta James to The Ramones and so on. I do tend to have a preference to Jazz, Swing, Blues and Ambient style music more than heavy thrash metal though.

It really depends on the mood. Which is why music is the portal to the soul.

Movies:

Natural Born Killers, Interview With a Vampire, Chocolat, Meet Joe Black, Office Space, Woman in Black, pretty much anything with Jackie Chan, Snatch, Dangerous Liasons yada yada yada...

Television:

You mean that black box that collects dust until I decide to watch a movie on it?

Books:

Yes please. Many on the TBR pile and growing.

Heroes:

Superman (He's really Canadian you know), Batman - kicks ass without super powers. Wonder Woman - Come on, it's w-o-n-d-e-r woman.

Real life heroes? Hrmmm... My best friend for raising four kids as a single mom while running an in-home childcare business and yet still finds time to read bed time stories to her minions at the end of the day.

Teachers who make my children want to learn and allow my children to be creative.

Every parent who turns off the TV and encourages their children to read, draw, play interactive games with real live people (even better if they play with their children) or just gets them outdoors and away from the mind sucker.
