Writing. Of course.I also enjoy biking -- not on a Harley, but on one of those little contraptions with pedals, the kind you have to work to make go.I'm involved with a local community theatre. I love every aspect of the theatre. I even like rehearsals and hellweek! But, being on stage for opening night -- very few sensations match that feeling. The theatre I'm involved with is quite a nice place -- generally seven major productions a year, plus a month-long summer workshop that include a three-performance run of a short musical, as well as a series of concerts, comedy nights, and similar events. Most of all, I love spending time with my family. I have a big one -- five kids. I don't spend nearly enough time with them between working and writing and such, but I do love every second with them. Even when they're screaming at each other (or at me).
Here on myspace? Any like-mind writers lurking around here, those who write dark fiction. Or who like to read it. Or folks who just enjoy chatting a bit.Outside of myspace?First, an agent who absolutely loves my work, particularly a series of children's novels (well, middle grade to be exact) I'm putting together. Somewhat horrorish/modern fantasy, but at an age appropriate level for 10 to 12 year olds.Second, a publisher who loves the above referenced work.Third, about 200,000 people who fall all over themselves to buy the above reference workd.Fourth, no one in particular. I'm not so big on meeting big-name personalities. I've met a few here and there. Give me the plain, average person who's working for a living and making their way through life as best they know how. The celebs and others -- you can have'm.
Anything by U2.Kate Bush, Peter Gabrial (am I dating myself there), Enigma, some Enya, David Gray, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, some heavy metal, most anything Celtic, and a lot of music that moves me yet I haven't a clue who it is or what genre it would fall into.
I have five kids, therefore I am much too poor to ever see a movie. At least in the theaters. I never get to see a movie until its ten years old.
Don't watch much. I do enjoy The Shield. And Hustle (that's a Brit show on AMC).I can't think of a single other modern show I particularly like. I catch the old Twilight Zone reruns whenever I can. Wish I could find somewhere that did reruns of Night Gallery. I liked The X Files, mostly, when it was on, and my favorite show of the past decade has probably been Millineum (if I spelled that correctly).Give me a minute, I'm still trying to think of another show in current production that I enjoy.....
Well, if you haven't read Horror Library Vol. 1, you are missing a treat. Thirty rather dark stories ... one of which is by yours truly. And when you're done with that, check out Butcher Shop Quartet, a collection of four horror novellas. I helped a bit with some reading during the selection period for that collection.I'm also a big fan of The Hour Before Dark, by Douglass Clegg.
Well, this will sound corny, I supposed. But, I mean it.My parents. And my wife.
