STEVE VERNON: Horror Writer, Tarot and Palm Reader

About Me

Hey folks. I was born and raised in the woods of Northern Ontario, but travelled to Nova Scotia to meet my mom at the age of 17. Since then I've hitchhiked from one end of the country to another. I've been writing horror fiction for about 20 years. You can find some of my stories in The Horror Show, Cemetery Dance, Karl Edward Wagner's Year's Best Horror, Red Scream, Dark Discoveries, Horror Garage and many other nifty magazines. If you're a horror fan try ordering my novella LONG HORN, BIG SHAGGY from Shocklines. What's it about? Back-from-the-dead mountainmen, time-traveling mad scientists, and zombified buffalo. You will never look at a severed head the same way again!Enough commercials. Let me tell you about myself. I make a living in Halifax as a professional palm and Tarot reader. I make jewelry that I sell at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. I work as an oral tradition storyteller in many different maritime schools. I used to be a fan of wrestling, but since I'm all grown up now, and instead I watch Survivor. I'm also a big fan of LOST and THE SOPRANOS. I enjoy spooky stories and campfires and long walks. I can't hip-hop for beans, although I am taking lessons. Big Poppa is in the house!Anybody interested in learning more about me can check out my website for sample stories, poetry, articles and reviews. Just click http://users.eastlink.ca/~stevevernon
