Hi! Thanks for stopping by my page here in the vast virtual world of MySpace!
I'm a writer of horror/suspense fiction that often has a supernatural element to it.
I'll try to keep everyone updated on new releases, signings, events, etc.
You'll also get to know me a little bit: Like I'm 22 years of age, my name's Joseph McGee—or Joe. I hope you check out some of my work; you'll be helping support a new author and you just might like the book, too! Okay—the most important part is you, Dear Reader, liking the book.
My first novel, In the Wake of the Night was on the bestseller list on BN.com for supernatural-horror; Phil’s Place and Darkness Won’t Rest has been on the bestseller list on Amazon.com, and Phil’s Place has been nominated for two awards and was a top 6 finalist for the Predators & Editors Readers’ Poll.
My next novel, Snow Hill is due out in July by Blu Phier Publishing
I’m also the author of many short stories that have been in electronic and print magazines. I started out with freebies going into circulations of hundreds, than getting small change for circulations of small thousands, and now some of my shorts are being in major anthologies and magazines, such as The Sound of Horror, Gifts of the Flesh, and I’m co-editing Winter Frights with David Montoya.
Some of my reviews and interviews have included such authors as John F. Merz (The Lawson Vampire series) and bestselling novelist, Christopher Golden (Wildwood Road, The Myth Hunters) for The Pulse Magazine and have appeared on Amazon.com and various notable web sites.
I’m also a member of the Horror Writers Association, main branch and the New England Horror Writers.
Upcoming Projects
Snow Hill; Blu Phi’er Publishing (July 2008)
Winter Frights, anthology; Magus Press (November 2008)
The Secret Four; Magus Press (2009)
Soultakers; Magus Press (2009/2010)
Gifts From the Flesh, anthology; Blu Phi’er Publishing (December 2007)

Reviews/Blurbs
”Joseph McGee is an all around talent. He has excellent control of pacing, mood, environment, and especially, dialogue. Man, what an ear for how people really speak! Even if he hadn't written an incredibly believable, incredibly scary book, the way his characters speak would have made this book worth the cost of admission. I also loved how the pages just seemed to slip through my fingers. One minute, I'm sitting on my couch, just beginning the book, and before I know it, it's three hours later and I'm done, breathless from the fast-paced ride. This is Joseph McGee's first book, but it's no freshman effort. The prose is controlled and polished. You're really gonna like this guy.”
—Joe McKinney, author of Dead City [on In the Wake of the Night]
“Finally...a chill in the spine of horror, no one today writes it better.”
—Eric Enck, author of The Reckoning [on Snow Hill]
“Snow Hill will make you fear winter's icy touch.”
—Jimmy D. Gillentine author of Of Blood and the Moon
“The Reaper is a good choice for fans of the graphic horror of Clive Barker and those who enjoy fiction with a strong cinematic flavor.”
—SkullRing.org
Joseph McGee is masterfully skilled in penning horror stories that will make you afraid to turn out the lights. I am going to have to go and read a steamy erotic romance just to get these frightful visions out of my head. The characters come to life (before they’re killed that is) with the detail Mr. McGee puts into his work. If you’re looking for a book to make your blood run cold then this is the one for you. The Reaper is the first part of a spine chilling trilogy yet to come and if I can get the courage to read them I will surely add them to my, to be read pile. —Crystal Book Reviews (http://bookreviewsbycrystal.blogspot.com)
“…his commitment to thorough storytelling may be the strongest undercurrent pushing him through the multi-faceted sea of book-writing.”
—The Pulse Magazine
[Phil's Place] Excellent Work! You managed to make the blizzard itself seem like a malevolent character... I believe you captured the New England winter quite well. All of the characters were engaging, although I would have liked more information on "Greer," but that's just the villain in me.
You've got to keep doing this; I expect a short story from you at least once a month! You've got a real talent, Mr. McGee.
—Brian Fatah Steele, Founder of Horror Authors United (HAU)
Great writing. You definitely have talent. You really know how to get a reader's attention.
—Roberto Carlos Martinez, author of The Blue-Eyed Monster Dragged Me Into Love
