Chimp heroes: Ham & Enos(first chimps in space), Washoe, Tarzan's Cheeta (see cheetathechimp.org), Jeannie (from Fauna Foundation), all chimpanzees (who had no choice) used in lab research, space projects, etc. and who've endured whatever humans chose to do with/to them.
