Welcome to Pootspete's flock. Presently I have two birds, a 5 year old opaline yellow face type 11 dominant pied hen budgie named Chipperet, and a 17 year old male grey cockatiel named Zeb.
I will like to one day soon get a English Budgie. This soon day may be sooner than expected.
These are my two present birds who lost their mates within
two months of each other last year. Chipperet (budgie) who
loves her morning bath and Zeb (cockatiel) who has literally
taken Chipperet under his wing and accepted her into his flock.
He dive bombs me constantly if I get too close to her. What a lover!
Being that Chipperet loves taking baths, she and I discovered
one day while I got out of the shower and she was on her
perch in the bathroom, an easy bath in my hair!
What a silly girl!
Here are the three of us. This is a daily occurrence in our
house. I get Chipperet onto my finger, then the dive bombing
starts with Zeb and my head. He eventually lands up on it
proceeding to attack my hair. He is so very protective of his
new girlfriend, since the death of his mate last year of 17 years.
This is a classic picture, as I love the expression on Chipperet's face.
Chipperet enjoying a good scritch.
In a playful mood.
Zeb's good side. Flirting with his 'heart-wings.'
This is another favorite picture of my
girl, Chipperet. Looks like she is laughing.
These are not mine. This pic was taken at a recent local bird
show. A lot of these budgies were sold by the end of the day.
I do not approve of the overcrowding.
