For those who do not share their lives with exotic birds, we would like to help educate you about why it is a HUGE decision to bring a parrot into your home. They are WILD animals, not domesticated. They are noisy, messy, and they bite. Some more or less than others, but those who buy baby birds are playing roulette. They mature after a few years, and often their personalities change from a sweet, loveable pet to something unrecognizable and difficult to deal with. That is when they are abandoned, sold to the next "owner", punished just for being a bird by being locked in closets and basements (or storage rooms in a pet store), etc. They are extremely intelligent and need a lot of emotional interaction and stimulation. Many humans just don't have the time, do not understand their birds, or just don't give a darn because the bird is a "possession". In any case, these sentient creatures SUFFER.
