May all sentient beings be free from suffering !

About Me

I am still on a journey towards discovering my true self. But, for now I can tell you a little bit about my background. I live in the beautiful town of Austin, Texas, with my sweet husband and my adorable pugs, Muttley and Junie. Last year, we adopted Max Maltipoo. I was born in Brazil, and studied Law. So, I am very interested in environmental issues, politics, and law. Currently, I am researching about animal law, animal intelligence, and consciousness. I believe that the practice of law should be guided by the principles of “PEACE LAW” as defined by the International Alliance of Holistic Lawyers: Promote peaceful advocacy and holistic legal principles. Encourage compassion, reconciliation, forgiveness, and healing. Advocate the need for a humane legal process. Contribute to peace building at all levels. Enjoy the practice of law. Listen intentionally and deeply in order to gain complete understanding. Acknowledge the opportunity in conflict. Wholly honor and respect the dignity and integrity of each individual.
Bonnie Bunny

..

Bonnie is our house rabbit. She was rescued from a life of neglect. She doesn't have to live outside in a bared wired cage anymore; she doesn't have to endure extreme weather and live in a solitary confinement anymore. She is happy being part of our diverse family of humans and dogs, and everybody gets along well. Every individual animal matters. .

My Interests

Read my work at the Animal Legal & Historical Web Center. click on the banners below to visit the websites.."The day may come, when the rest of the animal creation may acquire those rights which never could have been withholden from them but by the hand of tyranny. The French have already discovered that the blackness of the skin is no reason why a human being should be abandoned without redress to the caprice of a tormentor. It may come one day to be recognized, that the number of the legs, the villosity of the skin, or the termination of the os sacrum, are reasons equally insufficient for abandoning a sensitive being to the same fate. What else is it that should trace the insuperable line? Is it the faculty of reason, or, perhaps, the faculty of discourse? But a full-grown horse or dog is beyond comparison a more rational, as well as a more conversable animal, than an infant of a day, or a week, or even a month, old. But suppose the case were otherwise, what would it avail?

The question is not, Can they reason? nor, Can they talk? but, Can they suffer?" Jeremy Bentham

I'd like to meet:

"Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing that you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They invent. They imagine. They heal. They explore. They create. They inspire. They push the human race forward. Maybe they have to be crazy. How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art? Or sit in silence and hear a song that's never been written? Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels? While some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do." Steve Jobs, Apple C.E.O.THINK DIFFERENT !

Music:

"That until the philosophy which holds one race superior and another inferior is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned: That until there are no longer first-class and second class citizens of any nation; That until the color of a man's skin is of no more significance than the color of his eyes; That until the basic human rights are equally guaranteed to all without regard to race; That until that day, the dream of lasting peace and world citizenship and the rule of international morality will remain but a fleeting illusion, to be pursued but never attained."H.I.M Haile Selassie's Speech delivered to the United Nations, and popularized in a song called War by Bob MarleyBob Marley - War - Live
