Never show surprise, Never lose Your Cool

About Me

Starting back in 2003 I started toying with the idea of teach myself to play guitar and it all just started to spiral really. I got so into I started to write songs. How I started to play out came as a bit of a surprise. I had gone down to The Barn at the Milton arms to watch a band and just after we got there we were informed they had had to pull out. Under some massive coercion Jimmy and Mr Nick Courtney convinced me to go home get My guitar and My lyrics and come down to Play. Thats how it all started really......... Since that day I have gone on to perform at over 200 Gigs, Promote My own music nights in Portsmouth at seven different venues (gig listings for these are ridiculous), Manage Bands, Go on tour, and have an absolute riot!!!Favorite bands ?????? - Check out My top friends they are all amazing.---------------------------------------------------- ----------------- Here are some of the people I have worked & Played with since March 2006. My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Me and The Ibanez - with good people around. Band on the horizon..........
Influences: Pretty much anyone who plays Indie Guitar based Music. I run music evenings and promote Band nights and Acoustic Sessions in Portsmouth. I also Manage a band. The Way are four Twenty Something lads from Pompey. They have had a very positive year selling out the Wedge, Going on Tour, Recording and are very Shortly about to Play Portsmouth Guildhall. Due to some intresting circumstances they are now begining to look more outside the Portsmouth Lines and start causing a stir where ever they go which is a great feeling to be apart of.The Myspace idea is genius and the music I have listened to and people I’ve chatted with have been amazing. Music has taken over My life and I am truly thankful. Not only am I getting to play more guitar then I ever thought I would have time to do. I get to work with music nuts and great Bands every day of the week. But most of all I am proud to say that (Aside from the Wedge) I was one of the Founders of The Portsmouth Music Revolution. Joel Messclean and His Partners in Crime @ Ex-Messclean, Myself and other Promotion teams have all really started to create something in a City that was only really known for Our Beloveded Football team. Although some of these have fallen By the Way side or Moved on to better things, the amount of good Portsmouth Bands that have come out of the wood work due to having Venues to play has been Phenomenal. The Way, Gilkicker, Blue Sky Research, The Elements, The Exits, The Stations, The Visitors, The Dawn Chorus, The Masters, Ashford, Wiservice, The Aviators, The Cartel, Palais and many others are just some of the Portsmouth Bands that I have enjoyed watching and working. The Southampton Scene continues to grow also with Venues Like The Joiners, Lennons, putting on Quality Bands week in Week out we must all be thankful for bands like MACH SCHAU!!!!(R.I.P. Sounds Like: Suggestions on a Postcard???---" The Bill is rounded out by Rossco, a relentlessly-gigging acoustic Indie Maverick who's passionate, Soulful songs gladden the heart" - The Echo. Taken from My Gig at The Lazy Lizard in Weymouth for Big Names, Big Faces.-------------------" With Four Acts on the bill this was a night bursting seams with good music. It started with local lad Rossco who opened with a dedication to Six Nation State who were playing their first headline at KOKO in London the same night. But he did promise the audience he was not turning into Chris Martin.Rossco's songs, played acoustically, eased the audience into the evening. He has a slight country twang evident in his guitar playing style. This was naturally most evident on the cover of Folsom Prison Blues played more subtly and without the venomous air of Johnny Cash" - Matt Merritt - The News.------------------" The Hardest working young gentlemen in the Portsmouth Music Scene" - Ian Martin - The Cellars @ Eastney.------------------" On Monday night my mate came of age. Minus the woos, the t.v show cover and devoid of any Coldplay, Rossco showed a maturity I've never seen before. He upped his game to suit the strength of the bill and didn't look out of place. The John McIsaac tribute even made me cry. Roll on Sam Isaac, can't wait for a re-run" - Joel Hater of Seagulls - Founder of The Portsmouth Music Foundation.Rossco
