aitch!

After many years playing guitar to myself and the dog, in January 2008 I started writing, singing and playing my own original material. Mainly encouraged by friends, local promoters and a healthy sprinkling of alcohol.Now I am loving discovering my voice(s) (the little undermining one should just butt out occasionally when I am on stage!)..., my stories and ways to combine them. In the grand scheme of music I'm not really a born performer or a siinger so its strange Im doing this at all and surviving. But writing seems to be easy, fluid and natural and thats the bit I love. It's all proving to be both exciting and exposing. A bittersweet experience being on stage but then if we can't learn something every day and scare ourselves a little then we may as well not start the day at all. So I am enjoying every aspect of learning as it happens to me. The road is a bit sparsely populated by signposts to destinations and the sat nav is switched off, so I am just wandering along fairly aimlessly.... But there are some aweseme characters chilling out along this particular road at the moment, so Im stopping frequently to say hello.....I'm lucky to be surrounded by an amazing array of talented musicians and promoters. Will McNicol, Dawn Chorus, Higgy, Paddy T, The Visitors are just a few........There's something of a revelation and a revolution going on locally in music, and expecially folk/country, and exciting to be in amongst it as a listener and performer.Hard to describe my style. Folk/country mellow stuff I guess? Best leave it to the audiences to decide. A pigeon hole is a fairly inauspicious place to live anyway....These songs were done at Old Blacksmiths studio, just a live performance put down on CD. I am working on something better. ie.
