My Interests

Music, (listening, playing, singing and writing) cooking, eating, reading, learning

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who loves real, twangy, twin-fiddle and steel guitar Honky Tonk music... Anyone who gets warm and fuzzy over a Ray Price shuffle... Especially anyone in the UK who really gets it with the whole Honky Tonk thing!People who appreciate good food in all it's forms.Ray Price.Willie Nelson

Music:

My band , Too Country plays Real Country Music the way it should be! I really enjoy Ray Price, Lefty Frizzel, Wynn Stewart, Willie, Waylon,, Cornell Hurd, Billy Dee, Junior Brown, Roger Wallace, Justin Trevino, Nancy Moore, Rosie Flores, Miss Leslie and her Juke Jointers, Levi Mullens, Dale Watson, James Hand, Amber Digby, Christine Mimms, John Miller, Tom Armstrong, - These guys know what they're doing!Country music aside, I really dig REAL old ska and rocksteady, early roots reggae, deep soul, the blues (when it's not being shafted by brits!)I'm getting really grabbed by a lot of the Tejano stuff I've been hearing recently...Norteno, conjunto and mariachi stuff....man it's the real deal! 50s and 60s rock 'n' roll, Asian inspired electronica like Talvin Singh, Asian Dub Foundation and Nitin Sawnhey, conscious hip hop, Arrested Developement, Jil Scott, downhome funk from JB to Macey Gray and a very small selection of classical stuff - Dvorak's String Quartet opus 96 (The American) for example, and Beethoven's violin concerto, although, as with jazz, I really hate all the luggage that seems to come with classical music!!! Pre-Pretentious Punk, Hawaiian steel guitar, Mexican Norteno and mariachi, Spike Jones, Rolf Harris, Didjeridu stuff, good bluegrass...My tastes are broad, but curiously conservative (SMALL c!!!!)I REALLY don't do ROCK.The Beatles were crap, there, I've said it. Stones, too. Bite me Dylan......? WTF is all that about? Here, courtesy of our friend Plunket, (http://www.myspace.com/plunketmcshane ) is a clip of me, Harley Dave and Deke Martin from Too Country, singing Ray Price's Crazy Arms at Honky Tonkin' Sunday in Camden Town... width="425" height="350" .. The utterly splendid Teri Joyce and the Honky Tonk hero that s Roger Wallace tear up "We're Not The Jet Set" with the incandescently Twangy Jim Lutz on guitar...don't get much better than that!! Oh, I was in the audience for this one... The Mighty Cornell Hurd Band. Honky Tonk Heaven!!!! The Late, Great Freddy Fender with the Texas Tornadoes...Vaya Con Dios, Freddy. .. width="425" height="350" ..Chicken Shit Bingo. It's not an olympic sport.I WAS looking for a clip of Roger Miller. Found this instead.... .. width="425" height="350" ..Here he is!!! And in the WILDEST video ever....... width="425" height="350" ..George and Tammy show us how its done... .. width="425" height="350" ..Lefty Frizzell!!!!!!!! .. width="425" height="350" ..
