What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about?

About Me

Joan used to work as a stage manager/sound technician and it was Juliet Binoche who heard her sing one day during a rehearsal break and insisted that she take her music more seriously. So she did. It's very hard to say no to Juliet, trust me. When BBC Music Publishing decided to scour the country looking for just one developing artist to sign, Joan Coffey was that artist. She was spotted doing a gig with Anthony Anderson of Death In Vegas, and was signed the following week. During the BBC years, she also toured extensively in Ireland and the US, wrote country songs in Nashville, was the Union Chapel's in-house musician working with recovering addicts and alcoholics, travelled to Nepal to help found a music charity which builds orphanages and also found time to write, record and release an album on her own label. She has played with / opened for / been supported by the following artists: KT Tunstall, Polly Paulusma, Guillemots, Nizlopi, Nick Harper, Nick Kelly, Nerina Pallot, Duke Special and about a thousand other people, all equally beautiful and talented. After a few years of dallying, she decided to leave the structured music industry and retreat back to the safety and happiness of being her own boss. Now she makes her own music, how and when and where she likes. You may remember her from gigs in such cities as Minneapolis, New York, Nashville, Wexford, Dublin, Kathmandu, York, Liverpool, Worcester, Reading, Nice, Bruges, Amsterdam, London and many others. Often featuring Troy McClure on tambourine. ************************************************************ **** "she looms over the crowd like an emotional giant, the sheer charm and honesty of her stay with you for a long time" The Irish Post ************************************************************ **** "her grace and strength wins over the room in seconds" Wexford People ************************************************************ **** "an extraordinary voice" RTE Radio 1 ************************************************************ **** "sharp, witty and entertaining" Time Out London ************************************************************ **** "Quite simply, beautiful" BBC Music ************************************************************ **** The album, "Everybody Needs One" is available on ITunes NOW!!! The squirrel is not a nuisance.

Bradley, the squirrel who lives in my back yard, has a habit of digging up my buddy's plant pots and burying his nuts in them. Fair enough, as far as I'm concerned, being that he is a squirrel, and th...
