About Me

Nigel Stonier is much in demand as a producer, songwriter and musician; he has worn the above musical hats in various combinations whilst working with a vast range of artistes including Thea Gilmore, Mike Scott and the Waterboys, Clare Teal, Martha Wainwright, John Bramwell (I Am Kloot), Fairport Convention, Sandi Thom, Lindisfarne, Rod Clements, Paul Young, Kathryn Tickell, Brian Houston, Erin Rocha, Robbie McIntosh and countless others.
Recent and current projects include production of the debut albums for Australian rocker Corrie James and Colchester based acoustic band Aloneme.
Nigel is a producer/collaborator with a natural ear for a great song and huge amounts of insight and vitality to bring to a recording session. He is also known as a brilliant arranger, and a great motivator and coaxer of winning performances from artistes.
He plays guitar, keyboards and bass, also mandolin, ukelele, dulcimer and assorted string instruments... parallel to his collaborations with other artistes he has released three solo albums “Golden Coins For The Holy Kid”,”English Ghosts” and “Brimstone And Blue”. He has a series of chart and radio successes to his credit both as producer and writer, and he also composed music for last years smash hit Brit comedy movie “Confetti”.
His likes include cats and all independent spirits, cricket and the colour yellow.
He is afraid of the dark, reality TV and computers.
He is open to suggestions.
