Acoustic!
2009 - a CAF year!!
Chuck Allen Floyd was raised in Tecumseh, Oklahoma, a small farming and ranching community about 30 minutes away from anything he deemed worth doing. Although his family enjoyed country music and always kept a radio on the local station, Chuck did not grow up in a musical family. In fact, no one he knew played an instrument one would be likely to find in a Nashville studio. He was just a kid that grew up playing basketball, made decent grades and vaguely knew he would end up going to college, but had no idea why.
During Chuck's first week of college at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, he went to a friend's apartment and noticed an acoustic guitar leaning in the corner. He picked it up and could not put it down. Chuck immediately began writing songs and worked to form a country band that would play in the local honky-tonks. Having played in and around Ada for two years, Chuck transferred to Belmont University to see what Nashville was all about. It quickly became apparent to him that Nashville was about one thing: great songs. A constant fixture at Douglas Corner and the Bluebird Cafe, Chuck loved seeing the faces and hearing the voices behind the songs he'd grown up listening to in Oklahoma.
He continued writing, but by graduation, he decided to go back to Oklahoma in order to attend law school at the University of Oklahoma. After passing the bar in Texas, Chuck began practicing law in Amarillo, Texas at a corporate defense firm.
Bored beyond belief, Chuck quit and made his way back to Nashville. He began playing writers' nights at the places where he used to sit in the crowd and developed friendships with hit writers and publishers who helped him grow as a songwriter and make his way into Nashville's songwriting community.
In September 2004, Chuck signed his first publishing deal with Blacktop Music Group.

Until today, Chuck wrote countless songs (well maybe he still can count them) and keeps on writing great music.
