All thangs Twang...records, guitars and gigs take up literally 90% of my life. 40's, 50's and 60's honky tonk and country, western swing, and rockabilly... as well everything that Grady Martin and Bob Moore eve even thought about playing on. SUN label 45's and 78's and white label mints I can't afford. Finding new old music I've never heard before. Vintage guitars - my husband bought me a mostly original '51 Telecaster instead of an engagement ring - Telecasters, Joe Barden pickups...the greatest pickups on the planet, pre '62 big bodied Guilds, tweed amps. Besides music I really dig on classic horror films, sci-fi, B movies and vintage movie posters and memorabilia of the like. And our dog, Bigsby, who's a Basset Hound... :)
I like meeting people that have a sense of humor that's as weird and sick as mine...if you like Troma films, you'll like me! ...if you like Scatman Crothers and nude black velvet paintings, you'll like me! ...if you like sci-fi toys, Pabst Blue Ribbon and butterscotch pudding, you'll like me! And I like meeting people that dig on B-movies and good music...that isn't asking too much is it?! As far as who I've met that I really wanted to meet ... we bought an amp from Scotty Moore and I've had the honor of playing guitar with both Marty Stuart and Ray Price... my life is pretty dang complete *blush*! I really like making new friends and never, ever, ever being bored...idle hands are the devils hands!
40's, 50's and 60's honky tonk, country, western swing, R&B and rockabilly... I've been really getting into old R&B much more than I ever have - I heart Otis Redding..."These Arms of Mine" AND "Try a Little Tenderness" can make my eyes roll back in my head still to this day. I absolutely love James Brown and Nat Kendrick, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Stax, Atlantic, you name it. I love old punk rock and my heart is and always will be early country...that's a crazy list, I know, but it's what I love! Music is a constant here in our household - I'm listening to the Loretta Lynn boxset on random right now and last night I fell asleep to Dr. Hook and The Medicine Show. Go figure...
I love classic horror films and old sci-fi one offs - The Crawling Eye, The Human Monster, Forbidden Planet...I'm a huge classic horror geek...what the hell am I talking about - I'm just a huge geek. I'm still amazed at times that someone actually married me.
I ain't much for readin'...unless it's written by SHERRI PFOUTS or about me.Ahh, just kidding...But seriously check out her book :o)
Grady Martin...Luther Perkins...Don Rich...James Burton...Albert Lee...Danny Gatton...Bill Kirchen...Redd Volkaert...Johnny Hiland...I could go on and on all day but I'll shut up now to keep from boring you even more than I already have *blush*
