Music, guitar, conversation, well written books. Creating something is big with me - I can become completely interested in anything - there are no boring activities only boring people -- everyone should start paying attention and do something - support a worthwhile cause - some I support: Amnesty International, The Carter Center, Natural Resources Defense Council, Compassion International and the Central Indiana Regional Blood Center.
I want your Blood! I'm not a vampire, I'm just here to encourage you to donate that precious red stuff.
I have successfully given away over 2 gallons of my blood in the last few years - and man that light headed feeling after sure is awesome! Do it if you can!
Amber, Ricky and Sue - if only to give them some grammar tips. Oh and that radical guy with long hair who had crazy ideas like loving your neighbor, I can't recall his name, but I'm pretty sure he drove a blue El Camino.
I like all kinds of music - ok i don't care for (c)rap but i get inspiration from a wide range of music from punk to opera - I enjoy: dead milkmen, dead kennedys, social distortion, damien rice, cat power, rage against the machine, poidog pondering, lisa loeb, jennifer knapp, james blunt, , sufjan stevens, cold play, bob marley, keller williams, led zepplin, dylan, cash, emmylou, radiohead, jimi hendrix, violent femmes, beatles, mofro, the cure, neko case, clash, u2, hiatt, and others. I really like singer/songwriters - imagine by john lennon is perhaps the best song ever - and do yourself (and your psyche) a favor and listen to the flower duet from the opera lakme, you'll thank me.
Raising Arizona is one of the funniest movies ever! I'll watch shawshank redemption anytime it is on (i was fortunate enough to meet frank darabonte and tell him how much i enjoyed it) i was also fortunate enough to meet richard legravanese and tell him how the fisher king was a great inspiration to me. The 1950s version of invasion of the body snatchers, life is beautiful, fight club, donnie darko, stranger than fiction, after hours, truly madly deeply, v for vendetta, shallow grave, the hudsucker proxy, the us versus john lennon, zelig, anything directed by terry gilliam is great, kubrick's paths of glory - young frankentstein should be watched often and if you ever get a chance to see the wizard of oz on a big screen - go!
tv is bad for my kids - so i decided to make them read more (and read to them more) however - I can wade through the 1000 channels of crap to find something good occasionally - i enjoy Lost and will always watch an episode of the Simpsons - i also love the Daily Show and Adult Swim - i do a great meatwad impersonation, just ask my nephew - but i still think my nephew should turn off the tv and read a book!
The Man (or woman for that matter) who doesn't read great books, has no advantage over the man who can't read.
