gonçalo prazeres

Gonçalo Prazeres was born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1978. After more than 10 years playing guitar he started playing saxophone in 2001. His main instrument is Alto Sax doubling in Soprano and Baritone. Between September 2003 and December 2006 he studied at Berklee College of Music, Boston, graduating in Performance. At Berklee Gonçalo took lessons with Ed Tomassi, Bill Pierce, Hal Crook, Shannon LeClaire, George Garzone, Jim Odgren, Dave Santoro, Rick DiMuzio, Bruno Råberg, Jeff Galindo, among others. Between 2000 and 2003 he studied in Portugal at the Hot Club Jazz School, Academia de Amadores de Música and Barreiro Jazz School with Jorge Reis, Pedro Moreira, Nuno Ferreira, Vasco Agostinho, André Fernandes, Nelson Cascais, Rodrigo Gonçalves, João Pedro da Silva, among others. Gonçalo attended workshops with Perico Sambeat, Jesus Santandreu, Matt Renzi, Greg Tardy, Zé Eduardo, Mário Delgado, Luís “Dudas” Pereira, Frank Mobus, Scott Wendholt, Jonathan Kreisberg and Doug Weiss. Since September 2002 he has performed live through Portugal in different settings playing mainly jazz but also Rock, Alternative, Electro, etc. I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
