Natural de Palmela, iniciou os seus estudos musicais na Sociedade Filarmónica Humanitária de Palmela.Estudou com Alberto Roque, na Escola Profissional de Música de Almada, e José Massarrão, na Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, onde concluiu a licenciatura em saxofone. Frequentou o curso de Jazz da Escola Luís Villas Boas, do Hot Clube de Portugal, na classe de saxofone de Pedro Moreira. Também estudou com Carlos Martins, Pierric Leman, Stephàne Laporte, Joel Batteau, Henk Van Twillert, Jean-Yves Formeau, Vicent David, Claude Delangle, Jean-Marie Londeix, Daniel Deffayet e James Houlik.Prémios: Yamaha scholarship 2003” atribuída pela Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe; 3º prémio do Concorso Internazionale di Musica “ Marco Fiorindo”, na categoria de saxofone solista, em Nichelino, Torino, Itália e 3º prémio do concurso “Revelação Jovens Músicos”, promovido pela Rotery International.Tem trabalhado com: Big Band do Hot Clube de Portugal, Casino do Estoril, grupo de teatro “O Bando”, Orquestra didáctica da Foco Musical, Orquestra Académica Metropolitana de Lisboa, Orquestra Solistas de Lisboa, Orquestra Sinfonietta de Lisboa, Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa e Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa, tendo trabalhado com conceituados maestros como Eric Stearn, Alain Guingal, Wayne Marshall, entre outros. Com o Quarteto Artemsax representou Portugal no XIV Congresso Mundial de Saxofone em Lubiana, Eslovénia. Com o mesmo quarteto realizou uma tournée por Guiné Bissau, a convite da Embaixada Portuguesa em Bissau e do Centro Cultural Português de Bissau.É director artístico do Festival Internacional de Saxofone de Palmela e do Ensemble de Saxofones do Conservatório Regional de Palmela.Lecciona Saxofone e Música de Câmara na Academia de Amadores de Música de Lisboa, Escola de Música Nossa Senhora do Cabo (Linda-a-Velha) e Conservatório Regional de Palmela.É membro fundador do Quinteto LUSOTANGO, Quarteto ARTEMSAX, LUME Big Band - Lisbon Underground Music Ensemble e Quase por 4, com os quais se tem apresentado por todo o País e estrangeiro.Como elemento do Quarteto Artemsax.é Artista Yamaha e Rico...Was born in Palmela and started his musical studies in Humanitarian Philharmonic Society of Palmela.He attended Professor Alberto Roque’s saxophone and chamber music classes, at Almada Professional School of Music, concluding the complementary instrument course. Afterwards, he concluded a degree in saxophone in Lisbon Superior School of Music, in the Professor José saxophone and chamber music classes of José Massarrão’sWon the “Yamaha scholarship 2003", granted by Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe. Won the 3rd Prize of Concorso Internazionale di Musica "Marco Fiorindo", in saxophone soloist category, in Nichelino, Torino, Italy. Wom the 3rd prize in the contest “Young Musical Revelation”, promoted by Rotary International.In the last years, he has attended several Master classes with some of the most prestigious saxophonists worldwide such as: Pierric Leman, Stephane Laporte, Joel Batteau, Henk Van Twillert, Jean-Yves Formeau, Vicent David, Claude Delangle, Jean-Marie Londeix, Daniel Deffayet and James Houlik.As a guest musician he has collaborated with the Setúbal Big Band, Casino do Estoril, “O Bando” theatre group, Didactic Orchestra of Foco Musical, Lisbon Metropolitan Academic Orchestra, Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, Lisbon Sinfonietta Orchestra, Solists of Lisbon Orchestra and Portuguese Symphonic Orchestra, working with the conductors Eric Stern, Alain Guingal, Wayne Marshall, and others As a member of Artemsax Saxophone Quartet, he was part, as a soloist, of the Lisbon Sinfonietta Orchestra, directed by Vasco Pearce de Azevedo, performing, in world premiere, a piece for saxophone quartet and orchestra by the Argentine composer Daniel Schvetz.
