Born in 1976 In Funchal (Madeira - Portugal) started studying in Faro and then in Madeira at the local conservatorium. Moved to Lisbon where he studied at the Hot Club and has been in workshops and masterclasses with Phil Markowitz, Gregory Tardy, Nuno Ferreira, Pedro Moreira, Chris Cheek. He represented the Hot Clube at the IASJ anual meeting in Santiago de Compostela at the year of 1999.Started teaching in the Hot Club at the year of 2000, he also taught at the Escola de jazz do Barreiro, Leiria and starded teaching in Madeira in 2001. Influences: Bill Evans, Jim Hall, Keith Jarrett, Fred Hersch, Wes Montgomery, etc. All the great musicians that I´ve heard had some influence, some more than others but there are so many great musicians that I started with 4 or 5 and then just gave up. So many!
