Currently reading: "Venus Envy" - Rita Mae Brown With every turn of one of her book's pages I become more and more a fan of Ms. Brown. I don't have all her works yet but will soon be making that my mission. I love how smart her dialogue is without becoming clever, how real her characters are portrayed without ever losing their unique voice, how true her backdrops are and how organic these plots grow. Full of verve and original thoughts that simmering, she fills my mind with scents and images few authors until now have.Have recently read: "Rubyfruit Jungle" - Rita Mae Brown Such life-affirming literature! I'm loving Molly, who's unapologetically carving her own path through the mainstream with every turn of the page. A great original character in an otherwise painfully homogenized time. (And I'm loving how Ms. Brown touches upon everything from queer marriage to LGBT homeless youth, decades before the community ever thought to.)
