What A Difference A Day Makes! 24 Little Hours!

About Me

~ Miriam "Mimi" Jacobs is an author, poet, and
professional speaker. Prior to this, Mimi was
employed with the U.S. Postal Service for 21 years.
Miriam showed an early aptitude and love for creating,
tinkering, and writing. She was first published
while still in high school in the school's publication,
"Jabberwocky".
Today, Mimi is making a tumultuous presence both in
print and online. But more importantly, her readers
and fans love her, and her work. Much is to be
appreciated; Jacobs is a master of several literacy
genres and the author of seven books including,
Illuminations: Poetic Inspiration, Embracing Candace,
My Name is Not Monkey Girl, and 25 Ways to Make
$125.00 or More After Dinner.
She is also penned How to Jump From a Ferris Wheel
& Land on Your Feet
, the first of a ten volume series.
The book is a multi-author anthology with a theme of,
"From tragedy, to triumph."
In March, 2007, Mimi launched her highly-acclaimed
publishing company on a shoestring budget, and in
a make-shift small office in her living room. The name was
contrived as a tribute to her two granddaughters,
Candace and Alyse. Her enthusiasm has helped her
shape her branding and build a dynamic team around her
including an editor, proof reader, illustrator, and
full-time publicist. In just one month, Candalyse
Publishing
more than quintupled in size, and tripled its
revenue.
Mimi is a life-time New Yorker and has the accent to
prove it. She currently resides with her husband, Charles,
her granddaughter, Candace, and their pets.
Five years into recovering from Major Depression, Mimi
seeks the love and support of friends both in cyber
world and the real world.
"When we embrace each other as fellow human beings, we
are living with unconditional love, with unconditional
kindness and with compassion. As we raise
our children, we must instill in them these
basic human qualities. Love makes the world a
much better place to live.
Today I love myself as I love my fellow human beings."
~Miriam L. jacobs
~ Communication is priceless and desirable in all forms.
Feel free to message me or comment to me.
I would love to chat with you about life, living, family,
hope, inspiration or anything whatsoever.
~ Depression... it's no joke.
If you know someone who thinks that suicide is
an option, do something to help... this just
might be a cry for help from the darkness that
depression has taken them.
Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative!

~Foreword~
by Fran Briggs
Every so often, you'll come across a book that transcends the obvious and unveils the unknown. How to Jump From a Ferris Wheel and Land On Your Feet, is such a book. This publication goes far beyond the preliminaries of personal empowerment. It rises above.

Other books may have this appeal in a series, but not the unique collection of positive and uplifting stories found here.

When Miriam L. Jacobs sent me the manuscript, I was favorably impressed by the pervasive authenticity. And, I am very thankful.

How to Jump From a Ferris Wheel and Land On Your Feet has been an invaluable guide for my own success journey. The stories of these ten, amazing women not only shed light upon that which was once in the dark, but challenge all who read them to experience a radical shift in their own believing and abilities.

I invite you to capture their extraordinary characters and spirit.

Within these pages, you will discover strategies for overcoming which derive from real-life experiences. Each of the writers brim with brilliance and illustrate a rare and wonderful gift: the power to enlighten, inspire, and amaze through storytelling. You will discover a domain of knowledge, profound truths, and unlimited applications for success and happiness.

How to Jump From a Ferris Wheel and Land On Your Feet is not only a "fast-read," but it's quite enjoyable as well. Each story evokes an appreciation for the courageous and faithful. Prepare to be touched.

If you're in search of a book that not only inspires, but delivers dynamic solutions to not-so-every-day problems, your wait is over. These women will show you how you, too, can jump from a Ferris Wheel and land on your feet.

Let the enlightenment begin!

~ R.I.P Three Little Angels ~
by Auntie Mimi
Awoke with thoughts of angels
Danielle came to mind
that pretty little
special
girl
who left the world behind
Too soon, so soon
she wasnt even four yet
When God said come here
my child
Come meet me at the gate
of Heaven.
Awoke with angels
flying
all about my head
I saw Susan, sweet Susan
laying lifeless; she was dead
God knew why He took her
This innocent child of two
Couldn't understand it then
Not sure if I really do
And Shantel, the oldest
of the three
With beauty, brains and as
wise as she
could be
Her life was short,
only six when she died
for all of my sweet angels
a river of tears we all cried.
Awoke with dreams of angels
they are always in my heart
Not a day ever goes by
When the moments that are dark
Fill me with sadness,
overtaking
my soul
sending me over the edge
to a dark
and lonely road
where I sit and contemplate
my angels who are gone
who left this world too soon
And flew up to the
Beyond.
I know that they are happy
laughing
bouncing with glee
But, I sure do wish
I had them sitting right beside me
Rest in Peace my pretty angels
you now belong to God
Someday we'll meet again
In the Great kingdom of the Lord.

(This poem is dedicated to the memory of
my three nieces who died tragically
in 1987 when a house fire roared.
They are in Heaven with my brother
and their mother. God bless their souls.)
