About Me

Bad news, for the last time
after... shit, about four years i think, Alpha State is calling it a day. to quote Faith No More upon their collapse, we choose to lay no blame other than to say that it's all the drummer's fault
i don't mean that with any kind of bitterness - unfortunately, Dean's been advised by several doctors now that his hand is damaged to a point where he's just never going to be able to play our stuff again. when we set out to look for a new singer, Dan, Dean and i all agreed that it'd be the last lineup change we'd ever make. we found our singer, Dave, but Dean's hand never recovered
none of us want to play this stuff without him, so it's only really left one choice
i'd like to give a huge thanks to all the people who've supported us over the years, all the regulars at gigs (Anna and Alison the Alphettes, Aaron, Jeff, Hayden, Nicole, Dayna and co, Nige, Ross and Stacey and plenty of others, if i've forgotten you i'm sorry!), our girlfriends for putting up with the noise, our friends who've helped along the way (we love you Aunty Sean!), to Geoff and Pony Music for looking after us when we needed a rehearsal space, to the bands who've put us on their bills and that we've played with (The Eleventhour, Spasticator, PTB, The Upper Hand, Translate, Ne Obliviscaris, Nitidus, Moredhel, Immersion, Synthetic Breed and gawd knows how many others) and the bands we never got to play with (Porcelain Militia and Elrazor!!!!), and the people who've worked with us in the past - our former members Glenn, John, Shaun, the guy they tried to replace me with whose name i never remembered, Craig and most of all M, Jase and Al who've looked after our live sound for so many years... i could go on but it'd take pages
none of us have got any firm musical plans at this stage. the live DVD we've been on about is still coming - seems it'll be the document of the band's final live show, not just M's, it should be out soon. i'll post the details on here and our website and here as soon as it's available
thank you and goodnight, it's been a pleasure fucking your hearing
