Life today is about being fast and efficient... What if I want to be slow... and thoughtful...(?)

About Me

I make it a point to vote in every election. However, I cannot justify voting for the lesser of two evils. The "two major candidates" promoted by the pop media are merely corporate stooges that act in the interest of those that hold their purse strings. Either candidate is acceptable to those in power. Today, however, it is no longer necessary to rely on the corporate media for the low down on presidential hopefuls. As shown below, the internet can provide a great platform for exceptional candidates, and level the playing field against the moneyed interests. Please check this video out, and consider supporting a 3rd party candidate like Ron Paul. Although the limited air time and the interview itself are anything but "fair and balanced" Paul has some great things to say...
My apologies to anyone that has written me a comment/message in the past couple of weeks and I have not responded. I've been getting ready for a lil' gig that I played last Friday night and have been really crunched for time. Your friendship and interaction means the world to me, it's just that there's a time for everything, and the last few weeks/month have been a bad time for keeping up w/ friendships. Hopefully I'll have a little more time in the near future to get back w/ y'all(?)

My Interests

Alas, regardless of their doom,
The little victims play!
No sense have they of ills to come,
Nor care beyond today:
Yet see how all around 'em wait
The ministers of human fate,
And black Misfortune's baleful train!

Yet ah! why should they know their fate?
Since sorrow never comes too late,
And happiness too swiftly flies.
Thought would destroy their paradise.

Where ignorance is bliss,
'Tis folly to be wise.

T. Gray

Ahhh, 'tis true, 'tis true.

"When you grow up in the United States, there are some bedrock principles that require concerted effort to discard. One is the simplest: that our leaders are good and decent people whose efforts may occasionally warrant criticism but never because of malice or venality... But one grows up. ... And with the lawyer's training comes the reliance on evidence and the facts that persuade... After a lot of reading, thought, study, and commiseration, I have come to the conclusion that the attacks of 9/11 were, in their essence, an inside job perpetrated at the highest levels of the U S government."

I've warned you for the last time do not CLICK HERE!!!

Hey, it's a crazy world, but remember, don't take it too seriously...

And now... from our friend Alex Jones...

I'd like to meet:

Wow. This is the funniest frieking video I've seen in a long time...

People I'd like to meet (Though not necessarily in this order)Jesus, Tom Waits, DNLovely, Jess, Gabriel Teodros, Nico D, Becca, Carrie, Pax, Still Small Voice, Thea, Gabriel, Eli, Chakratonic, Hilary, Ben Harper, all of the friends I met while I was trekking around the states, Gwen Stefani, Frederick Douglas, John Cleese. Hmmmm, how about this..."I wish I knew everyone's nickname, all their slang and all their sayings" -Perry Ferrill (of Jane's Addiction)I do my best to cultivate friendships from all over the world. Please feel free to click around my friends list. Make friends from a variety of places and cultures. You'll find that "foreigners" aren't so foreign after all. One thing that always strikes me is that people everywhere have hopes, dreams and fears. Everyone cries. Everyone smiles. Most believe in some sort of spirituality. There are incredible artists, musicians, authors and comedians from all parts of the globe. We can be friends at any distance, in any language. May you be blessed with lasting friendships from all reaches of the globe. ***********One caviat: If I find that anyone is using this format to abuse/harass/etc. they will be immediately reported and deleted from my friends list. Don't be a frieking jerk. There are enough of those in the world, too. Instant Karma's gonna get you...

Apparently this next video of Cheech and Chong is one of those myspace glitches. I didn't put the video on here, and I can't seem to take it off. These guys are idiots.

Music:

I like any music that says something REAL. That's from the heart. That makes you feel connected with your brothers and sisters around the world. I would rather see/hear/feel art that is rough and real than a well produced nothingness. That being said, I have too many musical interests to list, but I'll share a few... I'm a big fan of Gogol Bordello, Tom Waits, Ben Harper, White Stripes, Black Keys, Zeppelin, Beatles, Bluegrass, Lo-fi, Grateful Dead, Jolie Holland, acoustic stuff, old skool Public Enemy, Sumatran pop, Billy Joel, old Mark Lannegan, No Doubt, BLIND MELON, J. Cash, etc. etc. etc.I have a really nice vinyl collection that I've had since middle school...

Random funny clips...

Not for the faint of heart... : )

Movies:

Mind control: external, coercive persuasion of behavior by biomedical, physical, psychological, or social means, generally for nontherapeutic reasons; involves inducing or urging the adoption of certain beliefs, theories, or lines of action by others.

Suggestion : process by which an idea is induced in or adopted by another without argument, command, or coercion.

I just watched Fahrenheit 911 for the first time tonight. If you haven't seen it, watch it. We in America live often live in a world of un-reality. Fahrenheit brings it home. I also like Shaun of the Dead, Super Troopers. Monty Python. Old school Star Wars. I don't watch an awful lot of movies, but I'm open to suggestion. I usually try to stay away from the big budget dealio's though, you know?

Television:

KILL YOUR TELEVISION
BUT WATCH THIS!!!

Books:

Brave New World-A. Huxley, FEED-M.T. Anderson, Stargirl-J. Spinelli, My Descent into Death-H. Storm, Blue Like Jazz-d. Miller, 1984-G.Orwell, Mere Christianity-C.S. Lewis, Ayne Rand, Khalil Gibran, Vonnegut,Salinger, Clemens, T. Jefferson, F. Douglas, Hemmingway, Fahrenheit 451-Bradbuy, Greek classics. Pretty much anything w/ "quality and texture" as Faber would say.

Heroes:

My heroes understand that it is time to face reality.

“The notion that a radical is one who hates his country is naïve, and usually idiotic. He is, more likely, one who loves his country more than the rest of us, and is thus more disturbed than the rest of us when he see’s it is debouched. He is not a bad citizen turning to crime; he is a good citizen driven to despair.”
-H.L. Mencken

“Social factors often determine what we consider to be credible”

Does it matter to you that most people believe a massive lie?
