It's all about the music. No thrills, no photoshop and no "souped-up" PR.
What you see is what you get and what you hear is something else.
In a culture where music has become a "fast food" industry, Syren has
managed to bring back the art of songwriting with music that strokes
your soul, entices you and gives you inspiration.
These talented musicians are some of the best in their field & the band's
live performance is second to none.
The women of Syren have certainly paid their dues to the live scene
whether it's playing industry showcases or "we gotta eat" local bars.
Being in such high demand since their formation in September 2006
there is no doubt that these women know how to stalk a stage.
Erin Bennett is the guitarist and vocalist of Syren. A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, she is “the heart†of Syren. As the main songwriter she manages to hypnotize you with her powerful and passionate topics and vocal style. Erin is also a well honed front person who befriends and dominates her audience, drawing you in and making you feel like you’re on stage as well. (No lack of confidence here.) After a short solo career she decided to form an all female band, and called on her best friend Amanda who in turn brought in her long time rhythm section partner Jo.
Erin’s guitar technique and style is one of the most original around, lending this alternative band a wonderfully unique and totally original sound.
Amanda is the fretless bass player of the group. With her melodic riffs and tones she has become the band’s “Lead Guitarist†of sorts. Being an experienced pro in the music industry Amanda
brings great production ideas and beautiful new tunes to the table of the writing room. On stage she is so animated that you have to think hard about
whether to watch her fingers effortlessly gliding on that “fretless fret board†or to watch her powerfully roaming the stage. It is a particular treat to watch the interaction between her and Erin during some of the “heavier†numbers.
Hailing from London, England Amanda also delivers an extremely unique, “never-before-heard†bass sound that is sure to “knock your socks off.â€
Jo is the drummer and percussionist of Syren. She taps into her Celtic soul to bring diverse and artistic dynamics along with driving rhythms to these hypnotic songs. Regardless of gender she is absolutely a powerful drummer. (Just ask her drum skins) On stage she exerts an energy through her drumming that keeps Erin, Amanda and herself constantly on the move. She is also an experienced professional and uses her knowledge to lend helpful production and writing ideas. Having been born and raised in Walsall, U.K., she adds a diverse percussive sound that really brings Syren out of “run-of-the-mill.â€
