ADRIAN MARX first came to our attention with a band called BACKSTREET ROMEO. Upon bursting onto the circuit in the early nineties the band quickly garnered the attention of local club goers & music fans. Unfortunately, Adrian parted company with band but quickly rebounded, and formed PLAIN JAIN with ex- BUDGIE guitarist SIMON LEES . PLAIN JAIN'S first release “Better Late Than Never” saw the band get "KKKKK" in KERRANG Magazine's Unsigned Section of 1993, and spawn such songs as the AOR classic ‘Sometimes', the hard-rock anthem ‘Ten Rounds' and the acoustic-based ballad ‘All I Need', ADRIAN MARX toured with for a year behind the album, before the second studio release “On The Edge” with many songs from the recording finding new life on the stage, including ”Frantic” & “Blazing Hearts”, a hard hitting crowd favourite. Not long after the release PLAIN JAIN split.
Not one to sit on his hands ADRIAN MARX formed RAINDANCE, a heavier harder-core sound than PLAIN JAIN. RAINDANCE where the first band ever to play JB's DUDLEY – but this band was very short lived only staying together for about six months.
When Adrian moved out of his hometown and onto pastures new, he noticed a change in the live music scene, with the rise of the tribute band original material acts seemed to be few and far between. This is when Adrian joined top WHITESNAKE tribute act WHATSNAKE – who he remained with until he returned to his native Black Country.
After answering an ad in the local press, ADRIAN landed the frontman position with rock covers act DARK PAGE. Due to ADRIAN'S amazing live performances he began to get the attention of several other acts within the area, having offers to front lots of professional acts including a national TOTO tribute and also a now very well known tribute to BON JOVI . It wasn't until ex- BUDGIE drummer PETE BOOT approached him, to front his band LION that made ADRIAN move back to the pro-musician scene. After Pete was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease the band where forced to split but Adrian was not about to give in.
Adrian decided to go it alone becoming a one-man show, using high quality backing tracks; he began to make his mark on the circuit. It was during this time that ADRIAN was asked too work with BOB CATLEY & TONY CLARKIN of MAGNUM (then HARD RAIN ) to be a backing singer on their second album tour. Also Adrian fronted 5150 the UK's Premier VAN HALEN tribute for a time with the band recording a track for an American Tribute to VAN HALEN Album “ Running With The Devil ”.
In the last few years has kept busy playing covers in and around the midlands circuit and has recently teamed up with ex- PLAIN JAIN band mate SIMON LEES writing a song for TONY MILLS' (TNT/SHY/SWEET ) third solo record.
With the release of ADRIAN'S first Ep. “Calling All Angels” to critical acclaim and being described as having “a vocal style that is predominantly JON BON JOVI , but with a hint of STEVE PERRY , ADRIAN MARX is blessed with a voice that will get him far” Rob Evans-Powerplay Magazine, he is now currently on the way to recording his second studio offering. So the next time you hear someone ask, “Where has all the entertainment gone?” point them in them in the direction of one of ADRIAN MARX'S recordings or live shows.
AND REMEMBER – ADRIAN MARX - No dancing boys or lip-syncing, just powerful music from one of the best singer, song-writing, frontmen that the live scene has ever seen.
