I am very interested in paganism and all things spiritual. Remember ‘Everything is Energy…’ I love hippy culture, true free spirited people, crystal healing, tarot, music, writing, reading, camping, the outdoors, nature, animals, festivals, gigs and travel.I’m a musician and play some kick ass rock guitar as well as writing my own music & songs, however during my very early school years I used to play Cello in an orchestra! lolIn terms of guitars my favourites are my two massive sounding Gibson SGs which I play through an old 100W Marshall Plexi. IMHO Gibson SG’s rule!I value all my special & close friends who support me through all kinds of experiences, both good and not so good, and enjoy visits for so-called PJ parties (as I call ‘em!) and chill sessions – which basically involves great company, great music and a few alcoholic beverages! Weak areas? You decide – cos I know you’re all cleaver like that……but generally I’m crap with accents, apart from maybe the good ol ‘I’m as pissed as a fart’ slurring of words, which I do believe is a more generic accent!! For some reason that one comes up a lot at my PJ parties – which is always a real bummer for those who ain’t yet purchased the Collins Gem offering in this unique specialist area…… ho ho ho!The best chain on the streets today?? It’s gotta be Starbucks! Unusual desires? – you could say that – it’s my ambition to attend a Hawkwind gig in full body paint only!! Have you seen those works of art – amazing!! Watch this space…..
Free spirited people, ageing hippies, party people, anyone inspiring with an interesting story to tell and anybody who ROCKS OUT!!Get in touch and let me know of any hot gigs you've been too etc etc!! And of course any hot rockin nights coming up!!! The motto is - Gotta be there!!
Music will always be one of my true passions in life - my preferences vary, but basically I’m into anything that rocks!! Too many to list here but think………..from the space rock of Hawkwind, to the sheer genius of Pink Floyd…………that magical era of the late 60’s early 70’s when the blues tinged war bomber riff did indeed rule……..all those eclectic and obscure releases on Vertigo…….. to the more well known mighty inventors of Heavy Metal - Black Sabbath. There’s those feathered friends and legends of Welsh rock – Budgie, who granted, are ‘Heavier than Air’ most of the time!! There’s that place somewhere over the Rainbow, frequented by Ritchie Blackmore, after he’d done his stint adding to a more dominant shade of Deep Purple of course…… the Southern boogie of Lynyrd Skynyrd……and while we’re on that side of the Atlantic - cry’s from the San Francisco scene in the form of Blue Cheer and Jefferson Airplane…………Iron Butterfly give additional flowers and beads when required………Circa 1977 raised eyebrows as well as pierced them – bring on The Sex Pistols, despite all that Anarchy in the UK, I always loved Johnny to bits……..he tells it like it is!! Even the 80’s dare I say managed to have some ‘good hair’ days… think Poison, Cinderella, not to mention the mighty Tesla – trust me Frank Hannon cuts a riff sharper than an axe! Last but not least - coming to more recent times - thrashing it out is indeed liberating – the heavily masked Slipknot are class……!
The Wickerman remains one of my favourites.
Okay guys listen up, I consider TV to be somewhat toxic - I could never plonk my cute ass down every evening to watch dozens of those mind numbing soaps and then – get this - fucking discuss it as if it were a reality!!!! (not to mention the cute ass expanding into something less than cute!!). How one dimensional can you get?? Are you a soap fan? – Heaven knows what gotten into you!!! ? Admittedly, not all TV is bad (aside the soap sagas and the even crazier American TV) but generally I find myself engaged in far more meaningful activities most of the time….. oweerrrr, ho hum…. lucky me hey………..
I love any book which is stimulating and I’ve discovered a couple of superb bookshops in San Francisco for some really enlightening spiritual works. Recently I’ve read ‘Ghost Riders’ by Richard Grant which is a true story of travels with American Nomads. ‘The Saga of Hawkwind’ by Carol Clerk, ‘Lester Bangs – Mainlines, Blood Feasts and Bad Taste’ – awesome! ‘Jupiter’s Travels’ by Ted Simon – a truly amazing trip around the world on a Triumph motorbike – you won’t put it down! I’m eagerly waiting to get my hands on Rory Maclean’s ‘Magic Bus’ which tells the story of travelling the Hippy Trail in the 60’s - from Istanbul to India!! Now that sure as hell will get me thinking…….
Musically speaking, my heroes include Tony Iommi, Tony Bourge, Frank Hannon and Ritchie Blackmore, for their inspirational guitar work. Burke Shelley for being the most kick ass bass player in the universe – I simply love his style/sound - Speaking of the universe Dave Brock for going in ‘Search of Space’ and manning starship Hawkwind – a mission that has well & truly stood the test of time. Roger Waters and Syd Barrett for their creativity and diversity in the field of song writing and Del Bromham for being himself – a really nice guy who is truly gifted – Stray at Lichfield Festival 2003 was one of the best gigs I ever saw and Del’s solo acoustic performance supporting Wishbone Ash at the Limelight Club in 2004 had the whole place mesmerized. It will stay with me forever - a class act. Then there’s Lemmy for staying alive this long on a strict diet of fags and Jack Daniels….maybe exercise really is key – I believe there’s a helluva lot of sex involved……! I’m sure there’s a lesson in there somewhere! lol
