Dead Men's Hollow

Old-time, bluegrass, gospel, and tight harmonies.

About Me

Dead Men's Hollow is a six-piece group from the Washington, DC area. We're fronted by three-part female close harmony vocals backed by traditional American string band instruments: fiddle, upright bass, and acoustic guitar. Our music is best described as "Acoustic Americana" and encompasses genres such as old-time, bluegrass, southern gospel, and country blues. A capella, western swing and the odd baroque Christmas song round out our wide traditional repertoire. Not content to merely cover the canon, our prolific songwriters ensure our sound also remains fresh and up to date.Earlier this year, we won three 2005 Washington Area Music Association Awards ("Wammies") for Best Bluegrass Duo/Group, Best Bluegrass Recording, and Best Debut Recording. We have played bars and churches, festivals and fundraisers, and venues from big (Kennedy Center) to small. Through it all we're here for the music and hope you enjoy it, too!
