Casey and the Moonshine Band

About Me

Forged in the bowels of a resturant kitchen in the Fall of 2007, three friends...sick of hearing the same ol' garbage being played on the radio...combined musical influences to come up with one of the most brutal sounds in country music. Songs about parties, drinkin', drugs, and heartache are a large part of what Casey & the Moonshine Band is all about. With heroes like Hank III, Dimebag, David Allan Coe, Dragonforce, J.B Beverley and the Wayward Drifters, Split Lip Rayfield, etc., their shows are part honkey tonk country, part metal, part punk, with a dash of bluegrass thrown in. In other words...bass-slappin', foot-stompin', hell-raisin', honkey tonkin', brutal country!!

"Casey" Ray Crawford is the main voice of the band as well as the blazin' mandolin and guitar player. His roots in rural southwestern Virginia show in songs like the Moonshine Band originals, "Franklin County Stomp", "Wrong Week to Quit Drinkin'" and "Like We Used To". His soulful voice is the perfect match for the brutal country music of the Moonshine Band. He'll make you feel like you're there...partying with him and his friends as he sings songs about whiskey, weed, and women. He's 100% Hellbilly...through and through!

"Lightnin' Boy" J.D. Carter is a beast on the lead guitar. Growing up in Florida with friends playing in the band "Evergreen Terrace", J.D. has metal roots that run deep. His heavy influences like Children of Bodom, Dragonforce, and Dimebag Darrell add a welcome flavor to the band. He can tear up lead licks on songs like "I Know You Rider" and "Truck Drivin' Man" or he can keep it melodic in songs like the Casey and the Moonshine Band original, "Like We Used To". But don't let J.D.'s metal side fool you. He's a country boy at heart. The energy that he brings to the band is unmatched.

"Catfish" Carrie Crawford is the glue that holds it all together. A rock solid bass player with the voice of an angel. Carrie grew up in Logan, West-By God-Virginia, so she knows a thing or two about true country! She also knows more than a thing or two about music. She comes from a musical family and studied music at W.V.U. With tastes that run from jazz to metal to country and bluegrass Carrie is a bass-slapping Queen!! And don't write her off "'cause she's a girl", Carrie can jump onstage and kick-ass with the best of 'em! Whether she's playing and singing a sweet duet, or slappin' along to the fast numbers, Carrie definitely holds things together like no one else could!
