The God Fearin' Snake Handlers have spent the last two years pluckin' their way around Richmond and Central Virginia. This five-piece ensemble features three-part harmonies and is more fun than skinny dippin' with snappin' turtles. Charles, raised by wolves in the Clinch Mountains of Virginia, howls away on vocals and keeps up the chop on the mandolin. Carl, who was born floatin' down the Potomac River on an outhouse door, keeps the beat with his mean dog house bass. You would also be surprised to know that Banjo Dave, a native of the Tarheel state, plays the five-string banjo and provides backup vocals. Uncle Ned sings and shreds through guitar licks like a man with his hair on fire. Jenny, the one that doesn't look like the rest of the boys, uses her soulful voice to sweeten the vocal blend to near perfection. The Snake Handlers provide foot-stompin' music everywhere they play, including bars, roadhouses, restaurants, weddings, liquor stores, truck stops, festivals, back porches, funerals, and random kitchens. They also provide energetic performances and encourage crowd participation, particularly if they are protected on stage by chicken wire. The band currently calls Ashland, Virginia home, which is the known "Center of the Universe".BOOKING INFO: 804.307-6641 or 804.301.5422
