Spirit makes you shine and glow!...my saying Another one of my sayings is "Give life all you have...don't fret over the mistakes you made as a young adult...we all have to learn...took me a long time to come to that conclusion being a proverbial perfectionist...but count your blessings for every little thing we can see around us, every breath we take, everyone that we have met in our lives, put aside the bad though learn from it and when family is concerned, work on the reality that we are not all perfect, but that sometimes we say things that we do not mean to those who mean the most to us...just simply out of hurt. It is NEVER too late to make amends as long as we are alive.There could be no worse thing than to never put closure to "things" in life in order that we all can go on with this chapter of our existence.Again enjoy all around us, breathe in deeply, love with all your heart, and give thanks for all we have been given in this wonderful world."A little kindness goes a long way and an open heart will fill whatever gap that kindness does not accomplish... I am rather strict as far as my friends go and expect all friends to have integrity...a very important word in my vocabulary!

ABOUT ME: The music playlist (FINALLY I PUT IT BACK UP ONLY IT HAS 130 SONGS and they now allow you to add up to 200 and I will) is me--past and present or as a friend of mine, the late Rob Barsky wrote "I'm a composite of my every experience." Rob I miss you. It tells who I am and what I like and in a way, what I am like. Many of you know by now that I do have a heart and that it is filled with emotion, passion and caring, and sometimes even with all we have been through in life, we can find ourselves vulnerable. I just love all kinds of music. I have a pretty good sense of humor that stays with me most of the time so occasionally you may find an off-color song thrown in a player that I place on my page! ;) My experiences along with what I have learned in life is who I am today! I FEEL LIKE THE MOST FORTUNATE PERSON IN THE WORLD to have made it through and be here! Life can be rough, but all we can do is do the best we can, have courage, face it and do what we can to make it better...and be the best person we can! There are some things we cannot change and what I can't change, I try to put it in my heart and make me a better person. The good plus the bad usually comes together to make us well-rounded as social beings! Last I checked my heart still beats and I have proven myself to be capable of many things I would not have imagined! I try to stay positive! Through trials and tribulations (probably more than a normal individual), I feel like I can empathize and sympathize with an open mind and open heart and am always willing to listen. I have emotions...I laugh...I cry...I get my feelings hurt...I get angry...I say things I don't mean particularly when my feelings are hurt (biggest fault and I admit it but remember that people are not perfect, say or do things they do not mean, and always leave room to forgive yourself or them in your heart)...but all those things are just part of the whole human element and we do get over those emotions, usually very quickly! At least I know I am human. Music helped me through the down times and made me roll with the up times! My playlist that includes music I love including classical and jazz that I so thrive on also! It is so much fun putting these things together, BUT IF YOU WANT TO GET TO KNOW ME, look to the music you hear me play! :) I left out the disco era, but THAT also was a part of my life. I used to do those back drops at least FOUR nights a week! Donna Sumner was great as were so many great disco groups. I can still do that. Picture me at a good opera or at the symphony perhaps up at The Kennedy Center. That will give you insight into who I am and where I've been! I can relate music to different times in my life, both good and bad and can probably tell you what I was doing when I first heard any good song! I am not in a relationship at this point. I do feel we all need a good relationship with someone whether it just be family or friends, but we do not necessarily need a man in our lives if they are the kind who bring us down to another level. As far as what I like in a man...I like honesty, trustworthiness, and someone who looks at me as a woman and as their best friend and who has old-fashioned values and has GOALS yet at the same time takes time to enjoy life, a person of passion! Passion makes all the difference in the world!! :)

I have two actual last names, my professional name but my first name is Vickie! I have been on the internet since its inception due to work and am pretty internet savvy!) Welcome! I am a true redhead (strawberry blonde), feisty they say, and currently live in Virginia but soon to move!...where? We'll find out! I would love to own and live on the ocean someplace, but unless someone gives me a house on the ocean, it does not look like it is in the near future! LOLI am a 63-year-old, petite 5 feet 4 inches tall, 100 pounds, and am a very outgoing individual (not an introvert) with lots of energy when I am feeling well. I have been ill recently as well as remotely, taken on some major changes in my life and am still in the midst of these major changes and I am hoping that these changes will even enhance who I am. I am a day person and night person, but not an early morning person (you have to sleep some time!). I have lived from California right on to Florida, North Carolina, New York, and here. I AM YOUNG AT HEART AND LOVE TO HAVE FUN!! I probably have done just about anything in the business world! I most recently have been a medical publication columnist with a broad scope in just about any field of business including nursing. I am quite intelligent and have recently been a national corporate recruiter as well as I still teach, mentor and train in the medical profession. Have worked in the legal end, worked in television for several years with an ABC affiliate, pharmaceutical sales, and have been a medical transcriptionist also (which started me actually working at home). I love to put names with faces and know that everyone is human! Feel free to email me. I love meeting the folks on MySpace! I have been on the 'net forever and I remember when everyone **used** to say that they wanted to be anonymous because we were not real out here! Uh-uh! Ha! WE ARE REAL! WE EXIST! We all have a life...I hope! I know I do! ;)I love to travel preferably by plane, but I also love cruises. On a personal level, I am influenced by strength, wisdom and people who accept life's challenges willingly. If you are the type of person who turns your back from your problems, I most likely would not like you. I like people who are kind, have a good spirit emanating from themselves. My strength and zest for life apparently got me here today along with a LOT of walking!(yes, this is leading to the boots below :) I am very motivated, outgoing, professional, and in my personal life can be very laid back, spunky, found to love life, fun, spirited, and PASSIONATE about my interests! I do volunteer work also (when I get a chance) and hope to have more time to do more in the future. I am also very friendly and if you need a shoulder, I am good for that too! Sometimes I need a shoulder too so if you have one, I'm game! :) Also, those who know me remember I have a sense of humor and our humor gets us through. Mine is rather dry and many who know me can never figure out if I am serious or not, but more than likely I say things jokingly rather than seriously so do remember that! :)Anyhow, I am here. If you have a question, need help, want to know more, want to know less, email me!Being a little redundant (sorry), my favorite thing to do is travel though and try to go wherever I can when the opportunity arises. I like the ocean, the mountains, people's eccentricities, eclectic tastes (as mine are quite eclectic), talent, people who give of themselves as I have always tried to give of myself with passion to whatever project I work on. I am writing some books right now and boy will they be good if I ever finish!Since being on My Space beginning in January 2007, I have taken it upon myself to promote newer talent because it is a dog-eat-dog business...the music industry! So many profound and excellent talents, different sounds...they need to be heard so I try and exhibit some in My Top List. In the past I gave up a site that had 1293 friends and started over and I am taking it slowly!
I believe in angels and angel dust!! :o)FAMILY:Children, whether small or grown, make it impossible to forget your past as they are your fruits and in my case what kept me going most of my life while they were growing up. Now that they are grown, they are still the most important people in my life...I love them dearly, ALL of them...and whether we live next door or across the country, I will always love them as priority #1 no matter what differences we have had! My love for my children is no different than any mother's love for theirs if they are a good mother. I actually happen to have 4 grown children (which includes a set of identical twins, age 40. My youngest son and his wife live not too far away and my grandson who is 1 yr and 3 mos old live the closest. I have a daughter who is beautiful and talented as well who is 43 and she has 3 grown children as well who are all beautiful, smart and talented. I have two younger brothers and their families. My dear mother is still alive and I am blessed to have such a wonderful person as my main influence in life and my best friend as well! I have several friends that have been there a lifetime and are so very loyal, like family. Some of my family and friends also have a My Space and have stopped by. :)I VALUE FAMILY...a person's roots!! Nothing in the world is dearer than a warm loving family. I AM blessed to have been raised in a warm loving environment that was intact and I cherish that. I cherish ALL my family.DISLIKES:I dislike a hypocrite!!! I dislike a liar, probably this is my number one pet peeve ! My advice to those new on My Space...or old to My Space...BE CAREFUL with whom you befriend because not everyone is honorable, but don't let anyone get to you because all people are just that...people. Some just do not act as though you may act, but we do not know their hearts. If someone hurts you with words or actions, just pass them by and hope that their world changes for the better. All of us have had our struggles. Just don't react to them if they hurt you in any way because YOU are the important person and those you love. Always leave your heart open for forgiveness; you will feel better and it makes you a better person. MY SAYING: Treasure what was given to you, grasp it, hold on to it, put it in your heart and never let it go! If you can't do that, you do not deserve it!

My Interests

WE MUST NEVER FORGET 9/11/2001 WHEN AN ACT OF WAR TOOK PLACE ON AND IN OUR COUNTRY! I remember it well; those who don't, do not get it!
Interests: Spreading LOVE so that the world will be a peaceful place! If we all did that there would never be any problems! Meditation, regrouping, aromatherapy, stress management, music as it soothes the soul. I love anything having to do with the saving the environment, sea life, animal life, wildlife, the Earth!I love the people of the world and try and do all I can to help or be there for anyone in need. I believe in being quite passionate about issues and your beliefs! Never let someone belittle your beliefs. Be true to yourself by showing the necessary passion for your beliefs!I love my shih tzu boys. I had shih tzu and lhasa apso girls for 12 years prior to getting my boys. One of my dogs, Ashley, loves Animal Planet and the Meerkats and I love Meerkats too! My other little brown-nosed dog loves to talk! He actually will talk with you. He would be a good guest for David Letterman or for a commercial :)
Cool Slideshows!Favorite past-times that I have not had time to do in awhile are etchings, oil painting, writing poetry, writing books (watch out world...I will probably take you by storm if I ever sit down and get this done--I could have at least TEN BOOKS and the words would flow without having to think heavily!!) ;) I also collect clocks, preferably from Germany, Switzerland, winding clocks. I need to replenish my inventory. I like to set them about 30 seconds from each other so that they go off not all at once, but within seconds of each other and make song! ;)
Like to dance, have fine food. Love to go to Las Vegas often, play slots, love poker, just love Vegas! Online you can find me at Club Pogo playing free, but they have real cash prizes, as well as on AOL free casino at aol.com.Again, I love to travel, usually fly in and out of the country, but an occasional cruise works too :). I could easily move out of our country (probably to our northern neighbors such as British Columbia, Canada, or Nova Scotia...as the countryside is beautiful (having been there often) as well as you do not have American politics to deal with. FEELINGS: I feel we should treasure life and love, hold onto it, nurture it, live it, and never let it go. To those who have destroyed the precious with no remorse...well these people will be taken care of by higher beings. I am an animal advocate and give to organizations that will save them or take care of them.I am passionate about the health insurance dilemma in our country! It is ridiculous. We are such a great country supposedly...yet people LIKE ME...cannot get health insurance (due to the fact I had cancer). This is ridiculous and I believe that our government should make it mandatory for all of our citizens to have it. After all, many in our country WHO ARE NOT CITIZENS are provided with it...so us who were born and raised here can't get it...just BECAUSE we got sick. Even if I could get it, I would never be able to afford it because they would overprice it so much. This is a HOT ISSUE with me!Oh, I love sports cars! I have a little red one but I want a Mercedes 2-seater...that's my dream! Anyone want to donate one to a good cause in case you have one you don't need! LOL

I'd like to meet:

First, I would love to meet any or all of my friends (many I have already met, but those I haven't, it would be a privilege to meet you), I like to meet people of strength, courage, character, intellectual capacity, WISDOM, who are passionate about their beliefs, about life and don't change beliefs from one day to the next...someone who has their own mind and cannot be easily influenced! I am here for friends, MEN AND WOMEN of all ages, married or single, intelligent, who are accomplished, gifted (any of our US Presidents or future Presidents) with talent of varying kinds--to me that is self-expression, but shows what is in your heart. I also would love to meet people who have insight into other people and what makes them tick and who care about people. My big word is living life with PASSION. PASSION folks (yelling here!)--that is what I like to see...people who live their life with passion!! ;)NOTE: OH, I FIRMLY BELIEVE that LIFE BEGINS AT 50 and over! Best years of my life!! No need to stop living because you are older--it's all in the mind!

Music:

I sing and I am not half bad! Love all music with very few exceptions! Love jazz, alternative, rock and roll, classical, New Age, folk, SOME country, Indie artists (so many are soooooooo good), and just all kinds! I am taken by the sound of Darren Wharton/Dare. I had never heard of them until I came on MySpace and NOTHING THEY DO IS BAD!! I consider Darren to be PROFOUND. His music will take your breath away! Watch and listen to the one video I have below and listen to that music! RamsayGee (Gareth) is another profound artist (he is the age of my youngest son and I feel like he has more wisdom than me) and I absolutely love everything he does. He is deep, feeling and puts his thoughts to music beautifully. His entire family is gifted with the art of being able to express themselves with that musical touch that captures your heart! Have a special place in my heart for Rod Stewart's "Maggie May", Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Queen, CCR, Eagles, all the early 70's groups. I love Sting (past/present). Todaywise, I love Rob of Future Music, The Razorlight, Bryan Long rocks! Love The Fray, Nickelback, as well as other new groups such as Counting Crows, Matchbox 20, Jonny Lang, Usher, Blues Traveler (love John Popper); Travis Meeks you are adorable :); Melissa Etheridge. Movies:

Last movie theater movie was "Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon" as my nephew's (Gordy Haab)music is in the movie and he is in the movie credits. I am so proud of my nephew as he has had some really exciting things happen as a result of his "gift" of being able to compose anything and being able to play anything too! He is quite gifted. He'll be a big name one day and IMHO, he is moving up the ladder quite fast!! I believe one of my all time favorite movies is Pretty Woman with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere and Ghost with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze. I watched "Scent of a Woman" recently on cable with Al Pacino and remembered how much I loved his performance in that movie. There are many others. The older flicks though to me are the best! I usually watch movies on TV as well as nighttime Showtime, Cinemax, HBO and Lifetime Movie Network.

Television:

Not much TV, maybe Boston Legal, Animal Planet, Discovery, Travel Channel (I just love the Travel Channel) and National Geographic, Lifetime TV and Lifetime Movie Network also. Used to love Seinfeld, Law and Order (still watch re-runs), Sex and the City. Love to watch ice skating and football when teams I like play. Also love to watch Poker on TV. OH, CAN YOU TELL I LIKE SHOES?!

Books:

I actually am writing a book! I also write poetry. I love anything Kahlil Gibran wrote and am into metaphysical reading. Recently read "The Byrds of Virginia" for personal interests. Love mystery books, lighthearted books, biographies, autobiographies, but DO NOT LIKE love novels. The book I read just before the Byrd family was HOME OF THE RED FOX written by my friend and fellow ex-MT Judity!

Heroes:

My father who was brilliant. He passed away in 1994 and I still miss him so. Ours was a lifetime almost of not being close, but fortunate enough to have found the real "each other" during the past 4 years of his life! I am so blessed to have been given the chance to know my father as an adult as a real person rather than as just a "daddy." Any soldier who has either fought for our country or given their life for our country. These men and women should be commended always for their bravery. We must support our troops!Dog rescues are also my heroes...they take care of the discarded or homeless pets that people either abused, did not care for, or could not care for.
