About Me

Hi everybody, hope today has been a good and rewarding day for you.
Before I tell you about myself, I would like to thank my family and friends for their support and help in pushing me into finally getting on to 'Myspace'. Thanks Ali, Adam, Sam, HilZ, Becky and my good friend Ralph (The Wolf - check him out).
I have been playing guitar and composing mucic for a few years now, having had some wonderful experiences on and off the road, whether that be touring, performing, session work or teaching and have met and played with some fantastic musicians along the way. I have been very fortunate in performing to audiences from small venues of 200 to 400 and larger venues of up to 44,000.
I get great pleasure in reaching into peoples' emotions through my music. The way I tend to compose my music is the way I feel at the time in my heart. I draw from my spiritual beliefs that there will hopefully be one day, harmony on this planet we live in. I love the imagination of the human mind in the way it can create fantasy and mysticism to the point that film makers can make it seem a reality. I am either out and out in your face or laid back to the point of almost being horizontal and I would love to get into composing music for either films or television. I have accumulated quite a varied collection of compositions over the years of which I would like to take you on a musical journey from the early days evolving to where I am today. Hopefuly as you visit my site regularly you will hear the improvements in my own musicianship over the years as I vary my work on the site.
The first six examples are:-
Glencoe - composed for ice-skaters Torville & Dean. When I visited the valley of Glencoe in Scotland I found it to be a very peaceful, yet eerie place. There was not a single bird in the sky and every thing was grey, one wonders if the valley could talk, it would have meny a tale to tell about the battle of Glencoe that took place in 1692 between the Campbells and the McDonalds!!!
Oceans - Another track which was composed for Torville & Dean, if you imagine the different activities of life forms between tide in & tide out, this is what I've tried to captivate in this composition.
Awakening - composed for a group of drama students at Boston College for their own rendition of the epic film - Alien. The scene is set when actor John Hurt first enters the alien ship and discovers the nest.
Twitterpated - This track was inspired by a wonderful lady who became my soulmate. The term "Twitterpated" comes from the WALT DISNEY film "BAMBI" where the wise old owl explains to Bambi why the animals are in a bit of a daze!
The Northern Territories - A pilgrimage of a man's spiritual search to discover and find his true self.
Hypnotised - inspired by my loved one.
Music is the language of the world. It is something we can all relate to, sometimes like myself you can't put into words but can express in other ways - for me it is in my music.
So if there is anyone out there who can help me in my journey to fulfil my dream to compose music for the entertainment industry, it would be most appreciated and maybe somehow I could return the help.
Thank you for giving us a look and I would appreciate and look forward to your comments as I will from time to time change the playlist, so I can compile a good library of work that appeals to people and if you wish to contact me, feel free to send a message. Look foward to making new friends.
God Bless, take care,
Den

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Solo Artist/Band Member

Although I do a lot of solo work and session work I am currently working with two other very creative musicians "Ged Lineham" (Drums) and Chris Stubley" (Keyboards)
Ged - Session work with "SAXON" and other bands, had chart hit in Italy with a band called "TOKYO"
Chris - As above, you can hear them both on the latest Saxon album "LIONHEART"
We have all worked with vocalist Mike Stars (ex Gary Moore Coliseum II) and other artists of similar status.

Influences: MY BIGGEST INSPIRATIONS ARE:-
My family & friends, life experiences. I am a big fan of Randy Rhoads. To me, he took guitar playing on to another level, which opened the door to other very talented players like John Sykes (Whitesnake), Jo Satriani, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, just to mention a few; but let's not forget Eddie Van Halen and Jimi Hendrix.
I love the great classical composers like Bach and Mozart and I am a big Paganini fan. I also love the works of composers John Williams (Star Wars) and Hans Zimmer (Pirates of the Caribbean) of which all of the above have enspired me to do the best I can.
I'm also a big fan of Peter Gabriel, how he use's the texture in his voice to draw you in to a song with his lyrics and musical rudiments.
I also draw inspirations from bands like, Rush,Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen, Dio, Whitesnake, Giant, Queen, Pink Floyd, Enya and The Wolf.
I love listening to all forms of old/new music signed or unsigned.
