About Me
I was born in Cleveland, Ohio, but raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I currently reside in Georgia, and I live in a suburb of Atlanta. However, between NM and GA, I lived in MD, IL, SD, and FL. My favorite residence was in Ft. Walton Beach, home of the Emerald Coast - and it truly is -but alas, that only lasted a year.
In my life I have jumped out of airplanes and scuba dived. I spent many a summer traveling around the country via motorcycle; as the operator and also as a passenger. It's an amazing way to travel, a regular sensory extravaganza. One vivid memory I have of one adventure was a trip to the Grand Canyon. My friend and I arrived just after a summer shower. As we drove along the winding road which would take us to the observation point, the pine trees were still wet and glistening, giving off the freshest aroma. The air was clean and crisp, the vistas were breathtaking. Today, whenever I catch the aroma of fresh pine, my memory always takes me back to that ride through the canyon.
I have an affinity for dogs and horses. I currently own 3 horses: Rohan, Topaz and Ani. I also had two little dogs: Chico and Bruno. They were my constant companions for nearly seventeen years. I've had them since they were both pups. "Ramses Jean Luc Bruno" came from a breeder in South Dakota and I brought his fuzzy butt home at five and a half weeks of age. He fit in the palm of my hand and loved to sleep either in my slipper or on the top of a soft, fluffy pillow. Chico, a MinPin mix breed, was a 'pound puppy'. He was rescued ... excuse me ... adopted from the Humane Society in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. He was barely four months old at the time. The boys grew up together, and now, both have been diagnosed with CHF (Congestive Heart Failure) and they are taking medication, daily. I don't know how much longer my little boys will be with me. (Sadly, Bruno left us on Oct. 4, 2007 at 11:15am. He's happily playing and chasing the other dogs at the Rainbow Bridge.)
Let's see ... what else can I say about me? I am passionate about a great many things, all one has to do is look at my page and see that, not only do I love my work and my "critters", but I also adore music ... all types, styles, genres, whatever you want to call it. I also appreciate aesthetics. Photography is something else I enjoy immensely, not just taking photos of my own, but looking at the pictures other talented folks out there have taken and graciously share with us.

Last, but certainly not least, I love my friends, and I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who have accepted me, such as I am, into your heart. You mean the world to me.
Besides friends and my "furry children", I am into writing. I have completed and published two novels: Eden Moon and Chance Encounter. Both books are available for sale, so anyone interested in more info, feel free to send me a message. I have posted teasers in my blog, as well.

Conceptually, Eden Moon started out with the idea that it would be a book for teenaged girls. Originally titled The Adventures of Molly Moon Pie Monroe and Her Day with the Knights, it eventually turned into a romance, and a story line which had become much longer than anticipated.
I had intended to put Molly into a series of adventures, each one with its own adventerous title, but after Molly met her idol, Aussie rock star Marty Steele, I knew the story had gone far beyond the teenage audience. I have had men and women ranging in age from 18 to 80 who have read it and they all loved it. Who can resist the attraction of a young girl to her famous idol, dreaming of the day when they will finally meet, face-to-face, and hoping that he will feel the same way? I can't think of anyone who hasn't felt that emotion, be it for someone famous or perhaps for the person they married.

Read what some of my fans had to say about Eden Moon:
"Let me just say...KUDOS to you on the book!!! I started Thursday night and couldn't put the book down until 2 AM and I finished it this morning. You did a wonderful job with this. I didn't want to put it down each night! I was really captivated by Molly as she grew into womanhood."

"Eden Moon - An excellent first effort! The richness of the characters, and the voyeuristic peek into their lives, I found to be quite addicting; I couldn't put it down. I found myself spellbound by their escapades, not wanting the story to end! I am eagerly looking forward to more work from this up-and-coming romance novelist."

"There is an up-and-coming novelist on MySpace, and I've had the privilege of reading her first book, which will be available later this year. Check out myspace.com/daydreamerbooks, or click the link for my friend Debbie to find out more. An insider's opinion: I laughed, I cried, I got emotionally attached to the characters and the storyline; so much so that I didn't want the book to end... ever!! This first book will be entitled Eden Moon, and I'm sure there will be more on the way. Be sure to check it out!!

"Debbie's first venture into the role of author has been quite remarkable. From the very first chapter of her first book, Eden Moon, she seemed to have
an intimate understanding of her characters.Debbie was able, very early in the story, to draw the reader into the very engaging exploits of Molly "Moon Pie" Monroe and Marty Steele and, also, make us actually care about what was happening to them. Now that she has discovered her passion , as well as her talent, for writing, I can simply encourage Debbie to continue sharing her delightful characters and their stories with us."

"What a joy to read! This is an intriguing love story and a beautiful portrayal of a family whose fictitious characters come alive. BRAVO!"

Chance Encounter is now available for sale!!! For a preview, go to www.DebbieRamsey.com .
I'm proud to present the following testimonial from Paul Levinson, an award winning novelist and the author of The Plot to Save Socrates and The Silk Code
:
"A fresh, fast, smoothly mixed cocktail of a novel. Debbie Ramsey has a keen eye for people and detail, and serves us a mix of NASCAR, Cape Canaveral, a ghost or two, and a set of players that tempt, fascinate, anger, and engage us. Take a chance on this encounter - the most you'll lose are a few nights of sleep."
And Rocky Robinson, author of the book Flat Out
"Chance Encounter was a thrill ride with more twists than a Nascar road course. Debbie Ramsey does an excellent job of keeping the reader's pulse rate on the rise as Grant Alexander goes from premier race car driver to team owner and company CEO after his father's death forces him out of the cockpit and into the real world of cutthroat business. A determined diva (Destiny Hunter) makes it her life's mission to land the man and his money at all costs. The problem is, after a chance encounter between Grant and Chloe Collier, at a parking meter of all places, a spark ignites that neither have felt before. If only they could find one another again before time runs out...
The characters are rich and uniquely portrayed. Destiny is one scary son of a [...], every man's worst nightmare. Armed with Grant's own gun, she sets out to do the unthinkable. The story is a joyride truly worth the price of admission."
