The history geek in me couldn't resist adding this one! I've personally visited this ancient library, and I can tell you it's nothing short of spectacular. Located in modern day Turkey, this library was once part of the Roman city, Ephesus. It's been said that it housed 12,000 to 15,000 scrolls. The library was completed in 135 AD.
