Come, be swept into the maelstrom of a Black Metal universe where otherworldly vocals cast the listener into a cacophonous storm of seething guitar work, contrasted by beautiful symphonic arrangements that ride a wild beast of cataclysmic percussion. In this alternate dimension the lines blur between reality and fiction as the mythology of IG’s universe with it’s legends of beginnings and the eternal struggle of a universe at war comes to life.So begins our tale.....It was with the intention of forging a fresh outlook in Black Metal that Triton, hailing from GERMANY, began writing, composing and recording in October of 2007. Having been a fan of the genre since his first taste of it in 1995 with Samael, Triton's desire to create a sophisticated release was spawned by years of listening to them along with Dimmu Borgir, Satyricon and of course the mighty Emperor.Tri's early Metal journey had begun with the same roots that have inspired legions of metal fans after listening to Metallica, Megadeth, Sepultura, Testament and Kreator. Influenced by a friend to pick up the guitar and start playing, Triton began forming his own projects and bands. In time, experimenting with different recording options, he released small batches of original material from Sentinel, Esmeraude, Nuitari and most recently Apocalypze.From this background, he was devoting much of his energy into Apocalypze when he realized his desire to create quality Symphonic Black Metal had come full circle. Having lost interest in the current offerings from many of today’s Black Metal bands, Triton was motivated to begin writing in the way he knew best. Being a fan of the genre during it's golden age he knew what it was that he wanted to hear. Focused on writing, composing and recording everything himself, he welcomed the help of a friend,who had been searching the internet for the right vocalist.After 4 or 5 unsuccessful auditions Triton began to wonder if Interstellar Genocide would just turn out to be an instrumental project. It was during this time that the stars aligned and Erebos, a vocalist from the USA came forth.A musician/composer himself, Erebos had worked with various Metal bands and projects from the USA and had always aspiried to be in a quality Black Metal band but the opportunity never presented itself. At the time he had created Oblivion Love Machine, a solo endevour that he was promoting on the internet when he crossed paths with Triton.After listening to the instrumentals posted on IG's page Erebos knew he had found something special. Envisioning an epic universe with it's own Mythology he composed lyrics and recorded “Thy Dark Majesty†for his audition. Stunned and blown away, Tri knew he had found the right lyricist and vocalist to complete IG. With his multifaceted voice and imagination, Erebos would bring a rare level of creativity to the table. From demonic shrieks and grim narration to macabre operatic discord, Erebos had found his Black Metal calling.Having mastered the hurdle of working from a great distance across the globe, from GERMANY to the USA, the miraculous story of Interstellar Genocide is indeed unique.Before their first myspace page was hacked into and hi-jacked, IG had over 30,000 views the first month with 854 play in just one day (2/23/08). Recently contacted by DJ DARKSIDE (Brent Devos) from New York City's BREAK THRU RADIO, IG have since been featured twice on the DARKSIDE RADIO program that promotes only the worlds best unsigned artists.Upon the completion of their first release, Triton and Erebos plan to solicit labels and then begin searching for additional members to audition and complete their lineup to begin touring.In the meantime, come share in part the new beginnings of a band that is proving to be as talented and timeless as the black art they are creating.(Contributed 2008)
