My name is Juliana Lopes da Mata Novo, I was born in 25.01.79 in a seashore city named Rio Grande, currently I live in Porto Alegre, RS/Brazil, working as a Delphi PL/SQL programmer. My main passions: Max (my little metalhead), Metal (since I was 14, my first Metal album was the Black Album by Metallica, followed by the classic album Arise by Sepultura..then my life changed for the best), singing, drums, computers, etc. As for my personality I can say I'm a stubborn, persistent person with a huge sense of justice. I fight for my goals and don't give up easily. Always learning from my past and evoluting while revoluting ;)
As a musician I'm a singer and left-handed drummer, although I used to play guitar aswell. I first began singing lyrically in a brazilian Black Metal band named Crucifixion-BR in 2000, besides playing the drums with them from 1997 to 2005 and playing the guitar during 1996; I was a member since their first formation using the nickname DarkMoon. We've recorded two demo-CD's in 2002 plus a live demo-CD in 2000, you can listen and download some of these recordings from Crucifixion's Last.FM Page . I've taken part in various concerts with Crucifixion BR from 1999 to 2005, mainly through the south of Brazil. And since July/2007 I'm back playing with the band, we are going to release our first full-lenght album sometime in 2008. I'm also the webmistress of their official website at http://www.crucifixionbr.infernohost.net .
During the year of 2005, I've acted mostly as a Mezzosoprano in the Symphonic Choir of OSPA (Symphonic Orchestra of Porto Alegre). I've performed in works by Gustav Mahler, Felix Mendelson Bartoldy and Giuseppe Verdi. Although I'm not sold on Opera. In the same year I joined Dark Moon(heavy metal band inspired by my nick name) as the vocalist, singing covers of Nightwish and After Forever songs. We had some gigs in 2005, you can watch some of their old videos on You Tube or Google Video. In January 2006 Dark Moon came to an end.
Nowadays I could be classified as a lyric soprano, although I tend to explore my whole range, and I sing from Heavy Metal/rock to Classical style, being strongly influenced by true voices of Metal. For now I have 3.3 octaves-range, hitting from C3 to F6.
In November 2006 I became the lead singer of american symphonic metal band "Dremora". We released an EP in August/2007 named 'Martyrs'. In the beginning of December/2007, Dremora decided to part ways.
Then in January/2008 I was invited to sing in a doom/death metal band named Lamented Despondency from Povazska Bystrica, Slovakia. We are looking for a label to release the new album "Ornaments Of Death" sometime in 2008.
