To categorise Sounds of Swami isn't an easy task. Whilst our roots essentially lie in punk rock, we as a band, feel the need to always keep the sound moving, different and to the best of our capabilities. We love punk. We love rock. We love hardcore. We love metal. We love grooves. We love art. We love effects. We love simplicity. We love complexity. We honestly embrace every corner of the musical spectrum and enjoy playing different styles of music. In the end, is this not what playing music is all about? Having fun? So far in our short existence, we have raised many eyebrows in both approval and censure. This is what makes us tick and keeps us feeling like our music is alive. We believe that punk rock should always be an alternative and a provoking concept; inside and out of its circle. We’ve been playing the width and breadth of the UK solidly for the past year and half and we’re showing no signs of stopping. We hope you’ll come and see us with an open mind and support another band who’s plying their trade independently in a world where music has become not much more than a business strategy to most. We are releasing our first EP called VENT in the coming months on our label Drawing Board Records and will feature songs from our current set list. We are working on new songs which are coming thick and fast in all sorts of shapes and forms. We’re working hard and loving every second of it. Catch us live soon, we’re always about.
Check out our top friends for a long list of amazing hard working bands. Support underground music!

LIVE REVIEWS
"They’re spewing out unique sound - double guitar, tri-vocals, drums that are at times utterly tremendous and complex – it’s hard not to be enthralled. It’s great to see guys so young with such a unique presence. The songs average about 4 minutes, but change a lot in that time. They slow matters down to talk through key themes - ‘This next one’s an anti-BNP song’ – helps you imagine what living in Keighley might be like, but, makes you instantly thankful that great creative outpourings like this happen in defence."

"Their on-stage performance is splitting at the seams with concrete riffage and rabid ravings. I take real pride in knowing that the scene in which I dwell has some decent young chaps who love their music and throw their entirety into it for nothing more than the thrill of the sound. This was a consistent thrash attack and the crowd appreciated 4 good musicians plying their trade. They work hard during their performance and it’s a right hornet’s nest of activity that enhances the whole visuals no-end."

"Magical, weird and wonderful... there are no limits to their talent."

“…they launch into a fusillade of noise and spewed out vocals. The only thing (thankfully) preventing it resembling a typical punk thrash is the absence of gob and phlegm. It focuses more on the physical side of enjoyment, the dancing, the exhortation of the lyrics…â€

"I wondered how Sounds of Swami would go down on a gig that was primarily pure punk rather than dipping in and out of the metal pool. The reason for the slot was that they are a damn fine band and really burst a gut at a previous gig. This performance today was a real stunner and the energy and overall skill on show was a real treat. Again the reception was great and yet another band who won a few new admirers."
