Hello. I'm Tim G. I produce and engineer musical sounds. Mainly bands of a guitar based flavour.. but I'll generally record/produce anyone who's music has some energy to it.
I'm also a guitarist/pianist/ocassional vocalist.. my main occupation at the moment is studio work... but in the past i've been more active as a DJ and remixer, and i'm probably best known for my remixes and bootlegs/mashups. Back in the day, I was part of the GYBO/bastard-pop/boomselection, soulwax/freelance hellraiser inspired scene.. DJed alongside the likes of Shitmat, Soundhog, Eddie Temple morris etc... Mashed tings up for MTV (MTV mash) and got some radio play too (XFM, K-ROCK, LIVE 105...)
The last 3 years I've been a full-time engineer/producer... mainly working with bands of the punk, indie, rock, metal, ska variety.. of which include the likes of Sonic Boom Six, Catch it Kebabs, The Honeymoon Suite, Random Hand, Babar Luck, LAP, , Above Them, The Shadowcops, Dusty not digital, No Standards, Blueprint to a Downfall, Park, Harijan, Stand Out Riot, Damn Skippy, One Less Beer, The Yorkshire Rats, Durai...

I charge £25/hour day (or £200 per 10 hour day) and £50 per track for mixing and mastering (which I do post recording session over a few days). I generally mix and master no more than 2 tracks in a day. As I have to work my mixing/mastering time around bookings (and giving my ears a rest!) it can be up to a few weeks after leaving the recording session, that you'll get your masters. If you need your masters in a hurry, you can book mixing/mastering time with me at the standard rate of £25/hr.
I generally like to be involved as a producer and advise on playing techniques, arrangement, vocal harmonies, and other performance issues. I also record bands who are more interested in recording demos.. in which case I'll be more of an engineer than a producer. Which way your session goes depends on how much time you book per track, how tight you are and how many members are are in the band! (a 10 piece ska band is gonna take more time per track than a 3 piece punk outfit). If you're up for a full-on production it always helps if I can hear a rough recording of your stuff before you come in (even if it's just a very basic live recording).
I'm also available for seperate mixing and mastering work... stuff thats been recorded elsewhere. I'll do a free 1min clip of a master for you, before you commit to paying for the whole job.
