Lydia Damala, mezzo-soprano, was born in Athens, Greece. Her first singing lessons was with Karen Solomon who introduced her to the singing world of pop, blues and musical theatre. She holds a B.A in Dance from the American College of Greece ( Deree College) and after she earned a scholarship from A. S. Onassis Foundation she continued her studies with a Post-Graduate diploma in Acting- Musical Theatre from the London Academy of Performing Arts (LAPA), London, UK. She progressed her singing courses with Jack Abrahams focusing on jazz influences and developing the musical theatre styles of singing. Now she is working her technique with the mezzo- soprano opera singer Marita Paparizou. Along with her singing technique, Lydia Damala took several acting courses at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA), at the Impulse Company - Meisner method of acting and she appeared at a sit com pilot for the British television called " The Girls".
Lydia is a member of the band Brilli Da Musica and had several live performances with them, receiving the audience compliments.
