About Me

Hi Everyone!
Welcome To the
Satellite of Love!

Let me start by informing anyone viewing this profile that I am in no way affiliated with Mystery Science Theater 3000 or any parent company of said program. I am simply an avid Mystery Science Theater 3000 fan and have put this myspace profile together to offer as much information as I can for people to connect with other MST 3k enthusiasts. This profile will also offer any and all information I can provide for MST 3k including links to various official and fan web sites providing information, tape trading, bot building, episode guides and much more.
In the "MST3k Movie" and "MST3k Episodes" sections of this profile are links to view episodes of MST3k for FREE on Google Video and YouTube (YouTube.com links finally added!). I highly recommend purchasing/trading tapes/DVDs of Episodes as this will offer the best MST3k experience available and keep the tapes/discs circulating. If anyone has any information that should be added to this profile please feel free to message me with it.
Thank you for supporting MST 3k and this profile. Pass the word around to all of your MST 3k friends. I intend to keep this profile updated and a main fan site for MST 3k on myspace. The other profiles for fans of MST 3k I saw hadn't been logged into in a long time. I made this profile to have a constantly updated profile dedicated to MST 3k.

A Brief Overview of
Mystery Science Theater 3000

Mystery Science Theater 3000 (often abbreviated MST3K, sometimes MST 3000 or MST 3K) is an American cult television comedy series created by Joel Hodgson and produced by Best Brains, Inc. that ran from 1988 to 1999.
The series features a man and his robot sidekicks who are trapped on a satellite in space and forced to watch a selection of terrible movies, especially (but not initially limited to) science fiction films. The man and his robots make a running commentary on the film, making fun of its flaws and wisecracking their way through the film in the style of a movie theater peanut gallery. Series creator Hodgson originally played the stranded man, Joel Robinson. When he left in 1993, series head writer Michael J. Nelson replaced him as new B-movie victim Mike Nelson, and continued in the role for the rest of the show's run.
The format proved to be popular. During its eleven years and 198 episodes (including one feature film), MST3K attained a loyal fan base and critical acclaim. The series won a Peabody Award in 1993 for "Outstanding Quality Programming", and was nominated for writing Emmys in 1994 and 1995 for "Outstanding Writing In A Variety Or Music Program"! MST3k was also nominated for the following CableACE Awards: in 1992 for "Comedy Series", in 1993 for "Writing a Comedy Series", in 1994 for "Art Direction in a Comedy Series", "Comedy Series" & "Writing a Comedy Series", in 1995, 1996 & 1997 for "Comedy Series"!

*More riffing on old cheesey movies is performed by Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett in their new project, "The Film Crew". The only difference between "The Film Crew" and MST3k is there is no silhouette of them on the bottom of the feature film. Otherwise this is MST3k ver. 2.0. Fantastic stuff. Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie - Deleted Scenes!
* This was recorded in a theater on a low budget camera. The quality is not the best so sub titles are in place to understand the dialog. I thought it was kewl so figured I'd throw it up here for anyone who is interested. Enjoy! *

MST3k Episodes NEW Episodes Added: May 9, 2008

___________________________

EPISODES:

NOTE:
Episodes are numbered by Season (first number) and Episode (second number). So episode 801 is Season: 8, Episode: 01. Episode 1011 is Season: 10, Episode: 11, etc.

"TD" = Turkey Day Episode ie. Thanksgiving Episode.

KTMA Episodes are episodes from the Pilot Season of MST3k before going national on The Comedy Channel (later re-named Comedy Central) then to the SciFi Channel. The episodes are listed as K#, "K" from the television station KTMA meaning the Pilot Season; "#" meaning episode number. So episode K07 is KTMA Pilot Season, episode 07, etc.

Episodes will open in a new tab/window.

"Making of MST 3K" Documentaries

Comedy Central Presents:
"This Is MST 3K"
*The first behind the scenes "Making of" Mystery Science Theater 3000 documentary shown on Comedy Central in 1992. Hosted by Penn Gillette of famed "Penn & Teller" (I'm not a big fan of theirs personally) this documentary of the "making of" MST 3K is slightly less than entertaining with interviews from many Hollywood producers, writers, critics and actors like Dan O'Shannon (exec. producer of "Cheers"), Neil Patrick Harris (then TV's "Doogie Howser M.D.") and more, this documentary of MST 3K is less like a real "Making of" program and shows it's true goal: to broaden their audience beyond the cult of fans garnered on Comedy Central. Aired in late 1992, about half way through season four, "This Is MST3K" does include great behind-the-scenes footage of the "classic line-up" of Joel Hodgson (Joel Robinson), Trace Beaulieu (Dr. Clayton Forrester/voice and puppeteer of Crow T. Robot) , Frank Coniff (TV's Frank) & Kevin Murphy (voice and puppeteer of Tom Servo). With head writer Mike Nelson, Paul Chaplin and staff along with other cast and crew, this documentary does have it's moments and with a run time of 22 min 23 sec it's worth a look. Enjoy!

The Sci Fi Channel Presents:
"The Making of Mystery Science Theater 3000"
*The Sci Fi Channel presents a 22 minute "Making of" documentary on Mystery Science Theater 3000. Included in this "Making of" documentary are clips from episodes, interviews with cast and crew, behind the scenes footage, how episodes were filmed, how jokes were written, how props/sets were built and of course Tom, Mike and Crow riffing on the "Making of" documentary itself. Sit back, relax and enjoy this hilarious view into the behind the scenes world of MST3k!*

Episodes on YouTube.com

NOTE: *All YouTube.com MST3k videos are less than 10 minutes in length. Because of this, MST3k Episodes require between 8 and 12 sections for an entire episode. The following are links to the first part of 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12 for the Episode listed. Usually after each segment is over you can find the link to the next part in the list to the right of the video or in the video window itself however because nothing is perfect, sometimes you may have to search YouTube.com for the appropriate part of the episode you are looking for. So, for example, if you are watching part 4 of 10 of Episode 321 - "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" and when it ends you cannot find part 5, just type in the Youtube.com search window the name of the episode EXACTLY as it appears above the video window and type in the part # you are looking for. In this case you would want to search for "mst3k 321 - santa claus conquers the martians 5/10" and you should find the part you are looking for. Also, as a side note, some episodes have semi-transparent lettering over the screen saying which program created the episode. This is unfortunate but no other way to view the episodes with it. If anyone has any links to episodes without the writing on the screen please inform me so I can change the link. Much thanx! Enjoy!*

BIG Thanx To All YouTube.com Uploaders

Don't forget to give the episodes a good rating! It means a lot to most YouTube.com uploaders.
