Native Son is a project started in 1999 by Songwriter, Musician David Butler.
who was originally from the Rochester NY area.
After traveling the world and writing over 100 songs, Dave wound up in White Haven PA.Wanting to record some of these songs, he went looking for musicians who would want to work with him on this project. The primary focus was to find a singer who could convey the feelings, passion, and beliefs that his songs were written with. He contacted the singer of the most succesful band in the area "Kartune" and Tommy Bruno agreed to work with him.A great friendship developed and the band released their first CD "Face the future" in January of 2000. The band was mostly comprised of Tommys band at the time. Steve Witner provided most of the bass tracks and Chris Lubeski did the drum and percussion tracks. David wrote the songs, played the guitar tracks, and a few bass tracks.
The bands second effort was entitled ""I've seen the light". It was released in Jan 2002.
By this time Dave had moved to Divide Colorado due to his daytime job in the semiconductor industry.Their third effort was entitled Coming home and was released in Jan 2004.The band just released their latest effort "One Voice." It was released 3/1/08 and is dedicated to the memory of Ian Anderson. !
