Rose River

And the band played all night....

About Me

Rose River has been playing together for the past three years. We spun off from our church group, and started with a great night at the Blue Cup Coffeehouse in Holmen. We may not need to live off of our performances, but our adrenaline levels require a few concerts, say once a month. All the members have families, but we find a way to schedule gigs, and we always have a blast. This site does have some of our original music, but we're 90% a cover band. Our mission is to play songs we like, and what a variety of tastes do we have. Tim is our leader, and comes with a strong cover band experience from his college days. Paula is our trained musician who can find a harmony in any song. Dave is the folky of the group bringing the mandolin and harmonica into the songs for texture. We also have Shelly who will find time to join us as the fourth vocalist and adds a great flute. Our song we love to cover that allows us all to shine is Van Morrison's Moondance or Marshall Tuckers' Heard it a Love Song.
We do play one Sunday each month at Holmen Lutheran Church, and if you would like to hear what we sound like there, check the ACTS friend.
Besides bringing diverse music interests and training to the group, we also come from a wide area of Wisconsin. Tim is from Ashland, Dave is from Manitowoc, Shelly is from Milwaukee, and Paula is from the LaCrosse area.
The band once had a goal to play at the nicest bar gig in LaCrosse, The Freight House. Now that we've done that 6 times, we have to go back to a strategic planning session, ha.... pop open a few more beers will ya!
If there is a song you like on this page not available for download, it's available for $.80 on efolkmusic.org... so just click Buy Rose River Songs
We have songs listed in a cool website run by Kent St College. Folk Alley has an open mic area, and it's a great way to meet new artists. Please stop by and listen to the songs there too, and rank them how you see fit. I believe the winner gets invited to their annual festival. While we're not that interested, it is cool to be in the mix with a lot of good artist. Vote for us often
