DNCN was birthed to the scene by whoring himself to netlabels and telling bands they needed his remixes for some 'next level shit on the flip' until someone decided his bar tab was too high and someone should maybe pay him to do some tracks because his tongue in cheek arrogance was not unjustified.
Born in 1980 in st Marys hospital in Manchester. DNCN cares little for convention or the pigeon holes you want to place him in, everyone says that like having a sound is a disease. Duncan Edward Jones has a sound. You can call it what you want.
Between walking disobedient dogs and getting roped into fruitless conversation with ne’er do wells whilst trying to read on bus journeys DNCN has managed to fit in remixes for the likes of manc indy legends ‘Elbow’ and Bola side project ‘Jello’, as well as working with the likes of hamburgs wunderkind ‘Remute’ and cambridges finest Mark-Henning. Releases are due already this year with the likes of dust science (home to surgeon and black dog amongst others), new baked goods/boomkat imprint ‘future days’ and many more. Including guaranteed dance-floor burner ‘kryst’ co-written with ‘Mr.Psik’ for the legendary Pete Mangalore’s imprint ‘human shield’.
Theres plenty to come this year to follow up april 2006’s headline slot playing live on Mary-Anne Hobbs’ breezeblock radio 1 show. Just watch.
at some point he may even re-write this dated fkin profile. doubt it though.
