Bio's:
A stalwart of the UK electronic music scene since 1994 Neil Landstrumm hasreleased work on many of the most recognised labels in the industry.
Starting with Peacefrog, shifting gears to Berlins’ Tresor Records he then upped thebass-game onto arguably the UKs’ most important electronic label of the moment, Planet Mu.Neil Landstrumm is an artist who always seems to be at the spearhead of experimental, dancehall low frequency electronics.
After a lengthy sabbatical in New York, the native Scot is now settled back inEdinburgh where he continues to make music and operate his label project, Scandinavia
Neil has toured relentlessly worldwide, supporting each years releases withuncompromising live shows using a plethora of sound hardware.
Never an artist to rest on his laurels and churn out the same old, he has built acareer on being unpredictable and open to new perspectives from which to hone hissound.
A pioneer of new styles within techno, often copied and imitated Landstrumm has astrong pedigree within the scene. Unaligned to any one genre, upfront and heavy, he makesmusic for all-comers to the rave .
Landstrumm heads into 2008 with refreshing abandon after 2007's critically acclaimed LPreleased on Planet Mu records called “Restaurant of Assassinsâ€. Cat number ZIQ174
With the heaviest subs this side of Chapeltown, Landstrumm seeks new lows with“Restaurant of Assasins†bringing together classic UK techno vibes and modern dubstep witha refreshed rave sensibility.
Neil hijacks dubstep structure and its “on-the-three’s†approach but adapts it to hissignature sound so identifiable from the decades previous productions.
Undeniably proud of the UK’s heritage in electronic music and clearly passionate aboutthe influences in his musical ouput, Landstrumm has a talent for bringing it all togetherin unusual and creative packages.
Chasing the Great Northern Raves from the Happy Mondays and Yorkshire Bass N Bleepscene, to contemporary dubstep you can follow Landstrumms’ vision of the ravestep sound in2007 with “Restaurant of Assassinsâ€. An unsettling cartel of badman and plain wrong-uns…..It's live hardware electronics at it's very best.

A twelve year veteran of the London underground dance scene, DDR has unleashedhis own brand of techno on many labels and at many parties/raves/clubs/festivals aroundthe globe
A central player on the UK free party sound system scene DDT could be found runningrigs at parties and festivals by Full-ON and Bedlam in the early nineties. Following onfrom this it was not long before he was bringing his fldgling studio out to these eventsto play music to the masses directly from the machines.
A meeting of minds between DDR and the then newly formed Liberator DJ Trio led to afirst vinyl release for DDR on Stay Up Foever no.2. A pioneer of what was to become theLondon Acid Techno sound , DDR was the first guest producer to appear on Stay Up Foreverand he has had a hand in many of their most memorable releases and is still one of theirmost prolific artists.
Through working with Liberator DJ's as their studio engineer, DDR met with DJ Choci ofChoci's Chewns and was soon roped in to run Choci's studio for him. A fruitful eighteenmoths passed at the Chocolate factory seeing Choci and DDR rattle off a great many acid-trance stormers and numerous proto-hardhouse/nrg classics. Moving on from Choci's studioto start his own labels with current partner in crime Mark Kinetec of the Kinetec empire,DDR was seen getting his hands dirty designing and construction a full y equiped, state ofthe art studio for Kinetec records (all of those years of college and 'real' jobs paidoff...), of which he is still the manager. The labels Hazchem and COSHH were born fromthis effort and were the prototype for the Infectious Distribution offspring from KinetecRecords.
During this time DDR had continued to produce records for a slew of newer labels suchas Smitten, Cluster, Routemater, Input etc and also hone his skills as a live performertravelling to many places around the globe with his flight case full of equipment toentertain the hordes.
More recently DDR has been involvod in the construction of the vinyl mastering facilityfor Kinetec Mastering, continues to produce for all of his favourite labels, has marriedand spends much of his time in the States where he can be caught bringing the sound ofLondon techno underground to an event near you.

The legend says that MAXX one day in 2001 went to buy 12 records in a shop inCamden, then he went to a friend, who had decks, to listen to them, and the followingSaturday he was playing, with only them 12 records, a set of one hour on the bigger soundsystem in London, Underground Sound System; this with the approval of the legendary DJ ofthe free party scene, GORDIE!
That is actually the truth, but is also true that MAXX was not new to mixing. In fact, even if he had a long break from the music scene (five years to be precise), he alreadyhad a long run on the decks, and, under different names, some record productions too.
MAXX first got in touch with music at the age of six, thanks to his mum, who wanted himto learn to play the piano. After five years spent studying classical music, he directedhis attention to electronic music, and, as a consequence, to electronic instruments.
It was in 1985 that he had his first spin on a pair of belt driven Lenco turntables, and it was love at first sight. Soon after he started playing regularly with some friendsin a mobile disco in and around his hometown in Italy.
This was the time when he "made his bones" on the decks, learning to deal withsometimes difficult technical situations. In the same time he was keen to learn the "knowhow" of music production, but soon realized that the small reality of his hometown inItaly was not the place to be, if he wanted to progress in that field.
So, after few spells in cover bands as a keyboard player, he decided to dedicatehimself to mixing full time, playing in different clubs in the south of Italy. He had thechance between 1989 and 1990 to play at Radio Azzurra, where he was playing longuninterrupted mixed sets at night (they say he was one of the first DJ's to do that inItaly!). In that radio he was flooded with new promos every week, and what promos! We'retalking here about the golden age of Acid House!
The easy access to all that material made his music taste grow considerably, thing thatwas going to be precious few years later, when he finally started making his ownproductions.
This happened in 1995, and after few collaborations on white labels, where his name didnot appear, he had his first official record deal. It was 1996 when Flying Records, thenone of the biggest independent labels in Italy, offered him a deal on Drohm, a sisterlabel. The project was called Sky Boy-The Space EP, and it was a success even in London, where it was played regularly in nights like Escape from Samsara.
Unfortunately the financial part of the deal didn't mirror the artistic success of therecord, because, few months after the record was out, the label declared bankruptcy, andthe money that was due to him never arrived! This, together with few personal problemspushed MAXX to leave Italy and the music business.
After few years spent going around in Europe and trying to get by with different jobshe finally got to London. When he was brought to free parties around 1998, he startedthinking of going back into mixing again, but it wasn't until 2001 that he finally did it,with the famous 12 records in his bag. This was in big part due to the insistence of hisex girlfriend, Patty, who believed in his potential, and convinced him to give it ago.
After that gig MAXX started playing regularly on the most famous sound systems inLondon, like Manik, Malfaiteurs, Stinky Pink, KSS, E1S and Solid. He also plays indifferent technivals around Britain and Europe, together with gigs in European clubs, likeSala Taboo, in Madrid, where he went to play in 2003 his mixture of Acid and HardTechno.
He recently started producing again, his new track, Hackney, is on Open Source, aLondon based label. 2006 has just seen the birth of MAXX's new label: Polymeric Records, with the guest appearance of Jeff Amadeus for the launch! Future releases on Open Source,Generator UK and Dirty Bass are also on the way...

Pure Filth is Nottingham's filthiest techno night, taking place on the first Saturday of every month.
Our regular home is BluePrint Cafe Bar but a couple of times each year we throw an allnighter at The Marcus Garvey Ballroom
We've got three rooms, covering a diversity of genres; from techno in room one with renowned guests from the UK and beyond; drum and bass courtesy of Sublogik in room two; finally Manifesto round things out nicely with dubstep, funk and soul in room three.
A BRIEF HISTORY...
Dagobah System - the early years
During the autumn of 1997 a group of musicians, DJs and promoters got together in the East midlands and formed a collective known as Dagobah System. Dagobah System was a techno sound system that specialised in acid and dancefloor techno. At that point in time there were not many techno nights in the area and so we were one of a few quality nights out.
"to save you lots of time and money I recommend you put Dagobah at the top of your list coz you aint gonna get much better in Nottingham". - Pulse magazine
Dagobah nights ran in various clubs such as The Marcus Garvey Centre, The Skyy Club and Dubble Bubble to name a few. Our Dj’s and live acts were cutting their teeth back then entertaining crowds between 100 to 1000 techno lovers. Since that time our DJ’s have played at clubs and parties in Holland, Spain, France, Germany, Czech and Hungry. Dagobah disbanded in 1999 as some of its members moved cities and took a well-deserved break.
The First Age of Filth
By 2000 Small Paul had decided that Nottingham needed some techno again and together with Russ and Dave we were back in full force under a new moniker - PURE FILTH. Utilising the top room of ‘The Old Angel’ an old alternative pub. Making it, our home and continuing to put on some of the best underground names and acts in the country.
Over the years we have been graced by the presence of some of the best in the industry:
D.A.V.E the Drummer (Hydraulix, Smitten)
The Liberators - Chris, Aaron & Julian (Stay Up Forever Records, Smitten, Routemaster)
Rowland the Bastard (Bionic Orange, Infected)
Neil Landstrumm (Sandinavia, Tresor, Peacefrog)
Michael Forshaw (Chan 'n' Mikes, Semi-Automatic, Crime)
Mark Hawkins (Djax, Automatic, Jackstar, Horspiel Musik, Ugly Funk)
DJ Urban (Pro-Jex, Kne' Deep, Jackstar)
DJ Bam Bam (Under Construction, Jackstar, Djax Up-Beats)
Daniel Benavente (Neue Heimat)
Paul Langley (Knee Deep, Jackstar, Predicaments)
Esther Ofei a.k.a Databomber (Sheer, Uglyfunk)
Syber Simon (Hydraulix)
Jerome Hill (don’t)
Uberdog (Atomic Jam, Ugly Funk)
Desertstorm
Samovar
BWPT
Ugly Funk Records
to name but a few and not forgetting the resident dj’s who continued to woo the crowds...
The Second Age of Filth
With the departure of Small Paul to Brighton it looked like the end for Pure Filth, but it was not to be, up stepped one time regular punter, but now full time Filthy Convert - Dom. For the next chapter we relocated to the newly refurbished BluePrint Club on Alfreton Road. Things certainly stepped up a gear the club soon had three rooms to fill and Dom and Dave decided to build a sound system that could do the place justice. The quality didn’t suffer and we continued to have an array of top UK and International techno DJs and live acts on.
The Third Age of Filth
With Dom taking a well earned sabbatical after the Dagobah 10th Birthday, Dave decided that Filth simply couldn’t die and has taken up the reins, promising to continue to provide Nottingham with quality techno music, a viable and reasonably priced alternative to the commercial clubbing scene and above all a bloody avvinit party. See you there!
