Based in Kristiansand, Norway, associate prof. and head of guitar department at the University of Agder (main institution for education in Jazz and Popular music in Norway). Rolf Kristensen has been working as a professional musician since the early eighties. As a session guitarist his has been recording and touring with lots of Norwegian and International artists, such as: Secret Garden, Brian Kennedy, Karen Mattheson, Ole Edvard Antonsen, Annbjørg Lien, Hilde Hefte, Egil Kapstad, Anne Marie Almedal, Kirsten Tungland, Mungolian Jetset, Erik Faber, Finn Kalvik, Sigurd Køhn etc. Rolf is a versatile musician who works in different styles like jazz, world music, pop, folk etc. He released his first solo CD â€Shimmering Minor†in 2005 on the Norwegian independent label Ponca Jazz Records. In his work as associate prof. at the university he has been coaching a lot of the leading guitarists on the Norwegian music scene.
