"Tara Øverlands lyre, harpe og sang akkompagneres av Eirik Dørsdals trompet. Resultatet er middelaldersk og eterisk klingende musikk som tar deg med opp i de høyere, mentale luftlag."
Torgeir Eikeland, Fædrelandsvennen
Picidae has existed for a little more then two years. The very flexible little duo have played
in all kinds of places, from small acoustic happenings in bomb shelters to
electro-acoustic concerts in cathedrals and old factory halls.
The music they make has a kind of renaissance and child-like whim to it,
and Picidae's unique sound is found through the combination of the ancient
instrument lyre, a wabbly old autoharp and a trumpet.
Picidae have among other places played at Emanuel Vigeland masuoleum (Oslo), Flørli (Lysefjorden/Stavanger), Punkt Elope - Punktfestivalen (Kristiansand), Oslo jazzfestival, Canal Street (Arendal), the designfestival 100% Risør (Risør) and Kristiansand Cathedral. The fall of 2005 they were picked out to participate in Øst- and sørnorsks jazz centers concert series â€Framtida i norsk jazz†(The Future in Norwegian jazz) and played at Kristiansand jazz club and BlÃ¥ (Oslo).
