About Me


This little guy gave his name to Ponca Jazz:

Ponca Jazz Records became reality in 2004.
Hilde Hefte wanted to release some of the historical jazz music that people had forgotten or didn't get the chance to hear on the radio. Angry about our jazz heritage being so sadly neglacted by the media Ponca became reality.At the same time she wanted to give jazz musicians the chance to release their music on their own premises.
This is, in other words a very idealistic company where most of the money find it's way back to the musician.

TOM OLSTAD (drums) released his tribute to CHARLES MINGUS October 25th together with his Quinetet "Changes" and guest singer KARIN KROG
LEE KONITZ released his CD together with the baritone saxophonist JOHN PAAL INDERBERG at Ponca Jazz Records October 13th - Celebrating his 80th birthday!
The band: Lee Konitz alto sax, John Paal Inderberg baritone sax, Bjorn Alterhaug double bass, Espen Rud drums.
