Jörgen Smeby,born in Ludvika,nothern Sweden,in 1959 studied at the Royal College of M usic in S tockholm from 1977-1982.From 1983-1997 he was a regular member of the Visby Big Band on the island of Gotland off the east coast of Sweden.This regional big band is regarded as one of the finest in the country and has often hosted many prominent guest musicians.It did not take long before the word was going around that the band contained an exellent bass player.Since moving back to Stockholm 1997 Jörgen has continued t establish his reputatio,playing with artists like Toots Thielemans,Scott Hamilton,Stacey Kent,Andreas Öberg,Marian Petrezcu e,t,c
